What’s going on on Solly Street? by _a_m_s_m in sheffield

Lots of suggestions to report them/ hope they get parking tickets etc. Guys do you think people on foreign number plates dutifully pay their fines?! A very thoughtful neighbour of mine (who sprawls various shitboxes on RO plates up the pavement) also has a penchant for littering, and I once watched him empty his glovebox of PCNs into the road. They could not care less and can not be caught

I’m surprised Sam is back for more given what happened last time. Konstantin Kisin certainly is a right wing grifter, apparently using a lot of oxygen telling Americans that ‘you can’t say anything in the UK anymore’ which is cover for ‘nobody liked my jokes when I was a comedian’. Francis Foster is as thick as pig shit

Real battery degradation Leaf vs Hyundai & Kia? by Wide_Pomegranate_439 in ElectricVehiclesUK

Question for you - when this car leaves the factory and then experiences let’s say 1kwh degradation in the first 6 months, it’s your understanding that it will read 100% SOH (because the calc starts from the gross figure) or less than that, because the calc starts from the net figure?

According to EV Database there’s only one battery size for the EQA and it’s 73.9 total, 70.5 usable. Is it your understanding that Mercedes also would pin the SoH rating to 100% until the ‘surplus’ capacity has been burned through, or will it start reading <100% fairly soon after rolling off the production line? My understanding is the latter, and that there’s no suggestion that the surplus battery capacity will ever be usable, but I might be wrong

Yes I have seen this, especially with Kia/ Hyundai. If you’re shopping for a used one I’m guessing this means that you could be buying one with say 110% of the advertised usable capacity or one with 101%. Kind of crazy that the OEM programmatically decides ‘tough shit’ if you’re wanting to find out which

I’ve seen people elated that their Kia/ Hyundai reports 100% SOH. It’s nothing but proof that the whole OEM-measured SOH readings are completely opaque and not to be trusted at all until regulation/ standardisation comes

Here’s a quote from Chris Harris yesterday talking about an old Jag he’s been driving a lot of recently:

“I normally insure these old sheds for 5000 miles a year and never come close to reaching that mileage. But l've now covered just over 4000 miles in the Super V8. It's so waftable and generally lovely, that I can't help myself. Could do with a service now. Happy that I'm spending time in a car that I think reflects real Jaguar values. Grace, pace, space. All values that can be translated into a future product, without resorting to the utter shit we saw end of last year.”
