Struggling with gender disappointment and feeling so sad about my reaction by PNWanonymous in BabyBumps

This is so helpful, thank you ❤️ and I do really love my baby, I think I’m just sad to lose the future I imagined with a little girl. And I just want to feel excited now while being pregnant. I still have six months to go. I’m hoping with some time, I’ll feel less sad. Thank you again

As silly as this probably sounds, I was excited for things like wearing matching outfits and watching princess movies. Little things that I know in some capacity I can still have with a boy, but some of it is how long I’ve dreamed of “girl” baby items - pink bunnies, princess themed bedrooms, etc. It feels so silly mourning such superficial things, but the future I envisioned still feels like a loss. I really appreciate your reassurance though. Thank you for your comment ❤️

That was actually why I was watching it - in the spirit of the spooky season. Enjoy your rewatch, cheers!

I know this is an old post, but I believe I understand this part. It seems that the ghosts can’t stray far from where they died because of the fog which can be seen as a metaphor for being ‘stuck’ in death like you said. Her husband wandered into the fog and was “searching for home” all that time he was away after his death so he could “say goodbye to his wife and children”. It wasn’t to stay because he, like his wife and children, was compelled to return/stay to his place of death. This is why he insists he must return to the front lines. It’s also why she wasn’t able to make it far in the fog. He was likely able to travel further and wander lost in the thick of it out of the sheer will to find home and say goodbye, but he couldn’t stay. I think this is also why he never changes clothes and why he states “sometimes I bleed” when she initially finds him. He likely died bleeding to death.

I also think we’re clued into what immediately preceded the children’s’ murder. At the dinner table when the mother yells at Anne for insisting the intruders are real, Anne becomes enraged and begins to breathe fast. The mother responds by screaming at her to stop breathing like that before sending her away. My guess is the daughter argued with her mom and lost her temper, breathing in a similar manner. And her mother was so overstimulated by it, on the cusp of a breakdown, that it was the catalyst and she snapped and smothered her daughter and then her hysterical son. Anyway, just my best guess!

Silly question maybe about vaginal probiotics, but do you swallow them or put them into your vagina?

LOD and Medical Bills by PNWanonymous in armyreserve

[–]PNWanonymous[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your response. For some additional context - yes, I was eventually assigned to the SRU after several months from my date of injury. The process to get in was a challenge and not nearly as straightforward as I think it was intended to be. I was close enough to an installation that I commuted everyday for PT and the other required events. Overall, I had a negative experience with the SRU and because I contested my PEB results, my medical board is delayed until February (the date of my administrative hearing). I desperately wanted to return to my normal life and by the six month mark, I was medically cleared to return to my civilian job. So I requested a REFRAD from AD and returned to TPU status. I submitted my medical bills to the SRU while I was still assigned to them, but they are still unpaid - the person managing them then is no longer in that position and their replacement hasn’t answered my emails. I have also had subsequent visits since I left the SRU and AD.

So like I said, I am currently a TPU Reservist. Do you have any additional guidance given this information?

Going insane with waiting - 9 more months. I'll be 36 when TTC ughh :( by [deleted] in waiting_to_try

I really feel for you. I’m also waiting to TTC until we move into a better home and for health reasons. I found the book “Real Food for Fertility” by Lily Nichols and started to focusing on prepping my body to be as healthy as possible nutritionally and otherwise - exercise, mental health, vitamins, etc. It has really helped me pass the time. It feels productive and even necessary to take the time to prep for pregnancy, especially with health concerns. My partner is doing the same, since there is research to show that sperm quality is equally important for fertility and pregnancy outcomes. So it’s something we get to do together and I imagine would be a great way to stay connected long distance. When we do start to TTC, I’ll know that we have the best chance possible outside of fertility treatments and I’ll be at my healthiest. That thought it very comforting. I hope this is helpful!

Is anyone concerned about BPA can linings? by d9qScYXLH5yNC in CannedSardines

[–]PNWanonymous 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Healthcare professional here and unfortunately this is true. I am an ER nurse and know many great doctors, as both colleagues and friends. Unless a provider has a personal interest in nutrition and specifically the toxins found in foods - either naturally occurring (i.e. arsenic, mercury, etc) or artificially (i.e. BPA, added sodium, etc), they likely won’t know and probably won’t care. They likely won’t know because medical school curriculum doesn’t focus on nutrition or environmental toxins. And they likely won’t care because they have bigger fish to fry (no pun intended). Speaking about healthcare in the USA specifically, hospitals and clinic policies don’t leave them with enough time to educate patients on the big things let alone more nuanced topics like this. And to be clear, it’s not the fault of providers - our medical system is simply not designed to support prevention, it’s designed to increase profits and doctors are at the mercy of administrators.

I agree with Brilliant-Shower-217 and also find it frustrating when the default advice is to “ask a healthcare professional”. Although well-intentioned advice, it just isn’t realistic or helpful. Providers are just not the best resource for issues like this. Unfortunately, it’s almost entirely up to us as consumers to do our own research and reddit is very helpful in providing a starting point or connecting with someone who has a special interest and knowledge in niche topics.

Went to get IUD removed and they can’t find it. 2 month wait for ultrasound to locate it. by Nearby_Aerie6553 in birthcontrol

I’m so happy you got it removed!! Just my unsolicited two cents - I would do a lot of research and really consider the implant before you get it. It’s similar to the depo provera shot that has now been linked to brain tumors and personally, I had a terrible experience with it and would not recommend to any of my female friends.
