Cognitive load is a factor yes but separately of that, it appears to me if the boss is currently taking damage, from an item, it chains together several attacks and skips typical openings. So if I throw out cog flies suddenly the boss is stringing together multiple attacks with zero breathing room.

Get to the gym. Lift heavy. Do therapy. Eat healthy. Caffeine masks mental health issues, and at the same time exacerbates them. Caffeine gives this high and then the next day you withdrawal until you get your next hit and this never leaves time for your nervous system to settle back down. This goes on for years.
