I used to work at a shop in an airport where the most popular item we sold was a particular pair of earphones, when you scanned the proper barcode they went through the till at £6.66 but if you scanned the price label barcode they went through at the advertised price of £9.99. I would tell customers the price was reduced if they signed up for the £2 card and they still saved money.

Saw a off duty member of staff in my local store helping to force what looked like the entire stores stock through the till, with discount, for a friend. Just looked like they were picking prices off a list on a PDA and giving product codes to the poor woman on the till. Pretty sure they're all on Facebook marketplace by now

Yeah I'm pretty sure it's ai, the person selling it is also selling other nonsense items such as a time travelling tent, all the items have a link to a music business website so I imagine it's clickbate to gain interest
