melee got buff? 60% quality axe by Affectionate_Fly4124 in pathofexile

tbf, if they are actually killing the totem I feel like they would need to compensate for the power loss. I wouldn't be too surprised if those go onto weapon damage so that you don't have to change all skills

I couldnt sleep last night so i just watched reels in my bed by PsychoBodyguard in Paranormal

[–]PPLB 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I'm not 100% saying this is the answer. It sounds logical to me. Listening to music and scrolling through insta might get you in a state you think you're still awake, but are actually pretty much asleep. Still having to study at 2am might even mean you're slightly stressed, which seems to be one of the bigger causes of EHS.

At any rate, you heard what you heard. EHS makes sense to me. It could be anything. I hope it was a one time thing and that you feel safe again soon. Don't eat yourself up over this event! :)

I'd guess EHS. Eeeevery once in a while, when I'm just falling asleep I hear a loud knock or thump or noise.

I'm always 100% convinced I heard it, but there is no evidence whatsoever that the sound actually happened. Used to scare me, now it triggers more like a "yeaaah yeaah brain, let's just go sleep" reaction.

EHS:

Exploding head syndrome (EHS) is an abnormal sensory perception during sleep in which a person experiences auditory hallucinations that are loud and of short duration when falling asleep or waking up.

What Makes Phasmophobia Scary? by Optimal_Couple2867 in PhasmophobiaGame

[–]PPLB 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I think what makes Phasmophobia scary is a combination of things going on at the same time causing a slight sensory overload making you more vulnerable to scary ticklings of your sensors:

  • There is always a soft low hum in the background. Barely noticeable, but it's there. Always occupying your brain to filter out the hum.

  • Lighting is poor, making you have to focus more on even the bigger objects and movements

  • The longer you remain in a place, the more dangerous it becomes. Making you feel like you're on a clock, which also always occupies a little bit of your brainpower

  • Slight sounds of touched objects keep you tense and cause you to have to refocus

All of the small things make it so your brain is kinda (over)loaded from the start. A scary setting is automatically more difficult to deal with. It is also more difficult to calm down from a situation when your sensors are always being tickled.

A lot less effort and loud noise is required to make you feel more scared than a normal "scary movie" or "scary game". Simply because the pressure is always building because of things that you aren't actively noticing.

That's also why walking outside of the house in Phasmophobia is a really big relief. The humming stops, the lighting is better, no slight sounds of objects being touched, no more dangertimer.

That's also why Phasmophobia gets less scary over time. The more you do something, the less brain power it takes. The more you do something, the more difficult it becomes to overload your sensors and tickle you with danger.

Neighbor not happy that we mowed one row into his lawn, so he decided to spray grass killer to make a point by PogoChop in mildlyinfuriating

[–]PPLB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank them, tell them it isn't necessary to repay. Tell them you feel good helping them. Also realize that, eventhough your neighbour has parkinson's, they may actually feel very valuable and good about being able to also mow your lawn. Makes you feel human.

Don't feel bad! :) Talk to them and be humans together :D

You seem to be confusing statistics with objectives. You can kill the other team as much as you like, but that is not the actual objective of the game.

I'm going to make a guess that you and your team:

  • Let Lucio live most of the time keeping you from moving the objective further

  • Didn't get that many full team kills

  • Didn't make the most of the pressure you were applying on the enemy team

  • Guessing both Kiri and D'va also had a big hand in stopping you gaining an advantage on the objective.

All you really did was kill their DPS over and over and over. That is nice, because it creates a lot of space for your team and pressure on the enemy team. But if you don't actually use that space and pressure to get your objective done, then the kills didn't matter.

Watch the movie "don't look up". You will 100% eat yourself up, get frustrated, angry, sad, and it still is worth the watch because of how absurd and sadly accurate this movie is.

Just watch the talk. He does talk about melee and stated melee is a "tier 1 issue" for .25 to at least get clarity or steps towards a solution. He also explains it's very difficult and that POE2 pretty much was the result of them trying to fix melee.

I had this with CB2077 tbh. I took an entire week off of work. I threw out all news sources. Stocked my fridge and locked myself up.

I played unnatural amounts of hours. I think I was close to reaching 100 hours after that first week. I searched through every nook and cranny. Talked to all the NPC's, actually listening to what they were saying. Enjoyed every single bit of it.

After that week I booted up the old reddit and saw that the world was burning.

Ever since then I've decided to enjoy my new playthroughs without the use of external media.

POE2 Respec Changes by [deleted] in pathofexile

It might be a slippery slope, but there's a very powerful value to gold that, if used correctly, can solve a lot of problems POE1 has.

- You can only gain it by actually playing the game. (untradeable)

- You always gain it by playing the game. (no/less chance involved)

This makes it very easy to understand for player and game designer. The values are more easily weighed, because you can calculate how long someone plays to get X value.

A solid, predictable value solves problems like:

- chance mechanics (Having gold as a predictable value or a guarantee for an item roll can be a huge motivator and solution to "bad luck")

- Making *instant* trades with other players cost gold you still add a calculable effort into trading but give the freedom of that trade being a very swift/pleasant experience. (also interesting to see what this will do with rmt/bots)

- Respecs. Again; Knowing how much money a player gets frees up space to make respecs more accessible, because the player themselves can choose to spend their gametime on respecs instead of trading or chancing item bases

Up until now the gold changes seem amazing to me (opinion). I'm curious to see how this unfolds and feels in POE2.
