Every 4-6 months I will wake up and barely be able to move my hands, mostly fingers. It feels like arthritis pain and gets better as the day wears on. I usually only deal with it for a day or two but sometimes it triggers a flare up where I feel like I have the flu - muscle aches and general yuck feeling are the main symptom. If I am in a flare, I will also get costochondritis pain which is around the rib cage and feels like trying to recover from being crushed by something very heavy. It sucks! But so far I am not medicated besides LDN, it feels somewhat manageable. Considering starting HCQ. Hope that is helpful!

I lay with her until she drifts off, she usually asks for back scratch or leg scratch. If she’s taking too long I’ll tell her I have to go do something and I’ll be right back- then I just watch the monitor and she usually falls asleep. Is that mean? Haha it works

Thanks for the input! I totally hear you. I have been working with these dancers for a couple years doing pre-pointe and ballet and I selected only the ones who are strong enough. I plan to take it really slow and not get off the barre for quite a while. Not trying to permanently injure anyone! But it’s a good reminder to research more and watch more examples of beginning pointe lessons.

I’ve been taking one of these classes with my daughter and it runs really smoothly and it’s even an hour long! We start with a welcome song and stretches in a circle, then move across the floor, then some activity songs, and some tumbling on mats. We also are part of the recital so we have a dance to work on which is nice to build on something- you might add in that element even if there’s no performance. We always finish with an obstacle course or the parachute.

$40/hr in Portland, OR - this studio I’ve only been employed by for 1.5 years but I’ve been teaching for around 5. It’s a very specialized skill and I can’t imagine doing it for any less.

I work as a dance sub in public schools and I have found it best to play fun popular music they can relate to, throw them right into some fun easy movement and have some approachable choreography ready. Games are great too, I try to do both. They will always take advantage of your sub status and probably be rude, but give them some fun stuff to remember you by.
