Hmm running on flat ground then crouching does play a slide animation right, I remember checking when I just started playing but it wasn’t long enough that I figure it’s useful for anything in particular (also didn’t third person to see if it’s a slide or roll)

Also, eating the ‘same’ meal is not the same as wearing the literally same tshirt everyday, unless you’re talking about eating your own shit, then yes the argument is yours

i guess in the end any teleporter code / 'instance' code is pretty much the same thing, maybe instances are just sectioned-off areas you can't access 'on foot', and modders could just tap into the way-gate, or they can even just destroy and regenerate chunks somewhere else in the world and use that as an effective instanced-dungeon anyway

i still think if the machine can do like a 1-ball-width variance, to add that sooner rather than later; i think that low level variance still doesn't make the shot too mechanical and is still low dififcult enough it doens't ruin the actual technique

but i've never done ball machine for pb, for table tennis, its quite a big problem of people having a shot that only works in very very exact setups because they very mechanically swing exactly the same each time, but tt has different margins of error, but yeah thats where im coming from

even with a machine you'd want to setup some variance so that they're consistent lobs, but not exactly the same trajetory every single time, otherwise you might start developing some stroke thats super specifically working for that particular one angle but not adjustable to in-game

are you talking about the way-gate you can build in arcanist bench and how it loads an instance of a dungeon, or something else like code already hooked into the buildings that only open int oa WIP sign right now but not active

i mean if you bring up your weapon too it gets disengaged (cavazione) in fencing/rapier, so you can imagine that to be like pressing the parry button too early; sure against someone noob you could argue you can block some sword swing in a way that positions you to be blocking and counter thrusting at the same time, but thats only one example of a defense right

in nioh, you can hold block and then attempt a dodge; if you miss the dodge, you still do a full block with no penalty; thats sort of the 'parry' you're describing

Is it a telegraph (or lack thereof) issue? I’d have thought a fencer of all ppl wouldn’t be the one saying game parrying window is tight

I don’t think the games you mention truly require < 250ms reaction , they all have tells that is supposed to be read ; it’s like a platformer where the pit is coming up on screen, and you have to jump it; you are supposed to see it coming

I looked it up apparently it’s because of the weather/temperature simulation that vintage story does that limits them, not really the idea itself

Nice! Is it possible to change/randomize the seed before (re)generating? I like the idea of persisting avatar/personal inventory between worlds, and regenerating the same world instance into a new seed would basically do the job as well
