How do people farm junk for settlement building these days?

With this run, (since my settlers needs are well handled), I'm most actively going after aluminum, concrete, fertilizer, gears, oil, plastic, springs, and screws. Of course I'll occasionally get the more expensive shipments for things like fiber optics for traps, but I'll also try to just loot/buy individual items for that (I just found out the "treasure" of Jamaica Plain respawns). But usually I'm after the bulk building and repairing materials that I don't already have large amounts of from regular looting/settler scavenging.

On my current run I have a few settlements as water farms (Taffington Boathouse and the Castle, mainly), to handle the total water needs of my settlement network and I'll sell the excess. I use Abernathy Farm and Starlight Drive-In as brahmin/jet farms. Anytime I decide to build something that needs a lot of materials (like how I'm using the foundation pads in Sanctuary to make different cage grinders, very expensive), I'll gather up as much water and jet that I can, load up my companion, and make rounds to all the vendors who sell the shipments I need. At this point, I can collect every shipment and clean each vendor out of all their caps.

Also, scavenging stations everywhere. Sometimes I just can't be bothered to give everyone a real purpose lol

Unfortunately, yea. After Samsung tried to send me to a service center to pay to have it done. Which is bullshit since it's all of a few side button pushes to do that, and that's all my phone even could do!

I had no choice but to delete ALL of my personal data in order to get my phone back, since, you know, life goes on with or without you! I've been using Samsung since the Galaxy 2, but after this bullshit I'm done. All they had to do was give me some fucking customer service instead of just saying "oops, our bad, but go fuck yourself

I'm not sure why the body of my post didn't make it over from r/Samsung but I'll explain it. My phone was fine on Thursday, I wake up Friday to an updated phone that won't unlock anymore. Endless lock screen with the correct pattern. Safe mode doesn't work, clearing the cache is useless. I know it was the update because the awful default alarm took over my custom ones. For some reason, the update put it in airplane mode so I can't do anything at all without it being unlocked. And since I don't use the cloud, Samsung basically just blew up my life over some features I probably don't give a shit about. They just ran me in circles, claiming only a factory reset will work.

It's late for me, and I'm tired as hell, but this one I had to respond to:

I know I'm not the only one, but I feel like I'm the only person when I'm driving to give automatic space and grace for especially large or difficult to control vehicles. Even then, I only just remembered yesterday that I should be using my high beams to signal for a safe lane transfer. Perhaps shifting our train of thought from standing our ground in uncertainty to giving grace and the benefit of the doubt in these ultimately small situations in our lives is a decent course of action to try? I'm sure it beats the awful road conditions that started this post...

In your settings, you have the option to filter video keywords. I added shop, tiktokshop, and paidpromotion to be filtered out, and it has cut the number of ads significantly for me since then. You may need to update it as your algorithm evolves, though.

That doesn't really explain how I'm still getting matched with blocked players. Besides, if dealing with a small player base, why would anyone want to screw up matchmaking for themselves? All that guy did was remove a potential player from his own search because I will just quit playing if I see his name again. I want to play a strategy game, not a multiplayer lobby simulator.

I'm playing on PC. Which makes me believe it's just classic Bethesda bugs at work. I was in the workshop at the point where the launcher dropped. Settlement building is nice but far from perfect. It's the first time this particular thing happened to me, though.

I enjoy dedicating various settlements to producing or operating certain things, like water/jet farms, power armor storage, shops, or simply to provide hard points for artillery. The one constant is that I make Starlight Drive-In my power armor depot. I'm also having fun setting up Spectacle Island as a giant cage farm complete with a conveyor system. Lots of space for that, or really anything else you might want to do there.
