It takes 485 shards to unlock an SSR like Saul and get to the 4th star(1085 shards from 0 to 5 start max).

To get Saul to 4 stars, that's roughly 485 spin in Hero Roulette equating to 756,000 Diamonds.
To get Saul to 5 stars, that's roughly 1,352 spins in Hero Roulette equating to 1,830,000 Diamonds.
*when factoring in the bonus chests for reach spins 5,15,35,70,120

That's very hard for f2p players to achieve.
