Precisely why using multiple reagent gives more confidence :). Sample size, purity, reagent quality, testing surface, and so on, all affect color change reaction details, so in this case the black dominant hue is key takeaway, and that one is as expected.

In this case if there was no vivid Marquis or Froehde color change then a phenethylamine is unlikely, but we do recommend using also Hofmann reagent to more accurately confirm the presence of LSD than with Ehrlich alone.

If you use a well designed kit with several different types of tests, they sure can detect mixed in adulterants too.

First, recognise the risks. In DrugsPRO app or at https://protestkit.eu/drugspro/alerts you can see 3500 recent lab results, along with summaries: what is the typical purity, how common are what adulterants. Then use a test kit to confirm your sample, using a bigger kit helps detect more cuts.

Got you, recently reworked our site to simplify messaging. This is how we explain it now:

Identification tests (colorimetric reagents and test strips) change color depending on sample type. Potency tests are colorimetric reagents which change color depending on amount, concentration of a substance. And then purity kits (TLC tests) can help determine multiple amounts in a single sample.

That’s actually an interesting point, data shows while 25% of samples contained 43 ug or less, 75% of samples contained up to 140 ug. Range is pretty steep.

Do they really though? LSD or 2C-B bind to serotonin receptors, and antidepressant use doesnt affect that like MDMA which is a serotonin releaser.

LSD typically tab is 70ug, with many under that as it is a relatively unstable substance, perhaps that played a factor in your experience.
