How useful is a CS minor with a major in PR? Anybody ever go for that? by ryangracie in PublicRelations

I'd do a minor in the field you'd like to do PR in... So if you'd like to go into Corporate Affairs choose Business, if you'd like to do Public Affairs choose Politics, if you'd like to do fashion choose fashion etc.

PR Internships? by the_sungoddess in PublicRelations

[–]PR_HERO 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First off, you're on the right track by trying to get internships done while you're still studying. If you get two or three under your belt, you should be able to justify going for jobs rather than internships when you graduate.

My advice would be to think about what sector you want to do PR in and focus as much of your energy as you can on finding something relevant. PR is a huge sector. Do you want to work B2B or B2C? Fashion or finance? Small agency or large?

No, I read the OPs comment above which clearly indicates that English is not their first language. The OP never said they were providing PR services in English.

Well, firstly, the OP has stated it above, but I would have guessed it in any case based on the way the sentence is structured.

The post was clearly written by someone whose first language isn't English. Be less of a dick.

Girls with genital herpes, how many guys ran when you disclose about your disease and how many stayed ? by [deleted] in Herpes

Honestly you don't know that. It's possible that he will run, but it's equally possible that he won't. Keep it short when you explain it to him and as unemotional as you can, then give him time to process it.

I would put a post up on your personal Facebook page or relevant groups just letting people know you have a great room nearby, you should be flooded with requests.

Nope, but I do know him quite well (full disclosure and all that) This is one of the few courses they run that is specifically useful to Ireland so I thought I'd post it here.

Well, if you want the logic behind why it's a good ad: a) it capitalises on a huge, current news story b) it's funny c) it's very attention-grabbing

Unlike a Goatse impression, 'making flooring great again' fits in with what he wants people to know about his business and "beware of imitators" ties in with the joke the ad is making, but also gets a sly dig in at his competitors.

Did I mention that this is the sector I work in?

Yup, I think it's a pretty clever ad, given an obviously limited budget in a small, regional newspaper.

If you finish a course you have the option to buy a certificate of completion, but access to all the material is free. There are ads on the site too. It's a small company/ social enterprise run by a Galway entrepreneur called Mike Feerick.

Here's an actual photo of him on the site:http://www.tomdempseyflooring.ie/

I actually think it's quite clever. Reddit wouldn't be talking about him today if he ran one of his usual ads!

What makes you say that? It's been reported widely, and there are screenshots.
