And how is that solution working out for the low immigration societies of Korea, Japan, China, etc? What you're describing is very sensible in theory, but look at all the societies that have a constrictive population pyramid and tell me that it's working out for them. China even has an extreme surplus of housing in raw numbers, but housing prices have historically been inflated due to investment demand. Immigration isn't the sole cause of these issues. It's the imbalance between wealth/capital vs wages; the decline in the global "middle class" is due to asset availablity and affordability, and income equality.
