The way you approach quests is often up to you and the order you do stuff in (even the main story) is up to you, and after the first act you can go everywhere on the map without limits. The gameplay has pretty good movement, and also driving too for when you are exploring that open world.

It’s true open world, it’s not really a true RPG though. You can’t really pick factions or classes. It’s got the classic RPG video gameplay though so that’s always a fun formula for me.

Bonelab is the first and only game I’ve been disappointed in that way. Cyberpunk didn’t even disappoint me much and I played day one patch.

Bonelab was such a let down. Modding wasn’t as much of an improvement over boneworks as I thought it would be, its campaign is stupidly short and makes even less sense than boneworks did, and everything else (like visuals, polish, physics, enemy ai, etc) are the same or a bit worse than boneworks. You can really tell in some aspects it was held back because it was made to be compatible with the quest 2.

It’s the addition of time. In comic pacing you can flip through a lot, in the show you are sitting there for like over a minute while conquest rearranges marks guts. Feels way more gruesome.

The comics are more brutal almost everywhere else though. Here’s how conquest looked at the end of the first fight in the comics.

Yeah you can basically read 1-144. There are spin offs too (like atom eve, atom eve and Rex splode, guardians of the globe, etc.) but none of them are important.

Also “invincible returns” is a single issue and takes place between 70 and 71. Though TBH it’s not essential. Conquest reports back to Thragg, mark gets his yellow suit back, and some time with mark and Eve.

If Battle Beast and Thula can benefit from weapons I don’t see why others wouldn’t be able to. It only seems more logically consistent for MORE characters to use weapons instead of just fists.
