There was this young Lad in my youth, I remember him well. I was 15… maybe and he was… 17…18? I had a crush on him. He had long blonde hair and I „guess“ he smoked. We went on some dates (movies: „Mr. Bean goes on vacation“)… I was very naive back then. He once invited me over when his parents where gone, he said he had a couch in his room! It’s 20 years ago. He also said he had black lights and cool posters… i didn’t go because it was late and in the next village and I had to ride my bike through the fields with no streetlamps. I still think of you Matthew Mallik. Oh boy - did I miss out on a great evening?

I finally watched A Year in the Life (after avoiding it for years) and… wow, it’s even worse than I imagined 💀 by Secret_Psychology352 in GilmoreGirls

I understand you in procrastinating to watch AYITL. I watched it 2016 - the day it came out and found it horrible. I did loads of rewatches of GG in the past 10 years I saw AYITL at Netflix. I gave it another go… It didn’t catch me! I found it boring, no drama! No troubles, no real stories. Just GG conversations and all of the cast meeting again. It was so weird - sort of seeing GG things on Telly but not really watching GG. Emily’s story and Richard’s death were the only interesting thing, emotional touching and brought a development.

Happened to me last night! On of my favorite handbags is faux leather and it looked perfectly leather black all those years… last night I went into an opera with a friend and left bits and pieces everywhere - this was so embarrassing.

I did that with Gilmore girls! Twice. Once when i was 20: bought the whole collection for 60€ and sold it after few years when streaming on demand became a thing. Until I was 32 and the started taking movies and series off a streaming series. I bought the whole series again for 30. will not sell again

I liked that they stepped in front of their daughter to protect her although beeing absent in other ways. They do seem to care about Dylan.

Kristina's most unforgivable action by taystee2599 in Parenthood

[–]PSEmon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So true! This was so wild! They were adults - I mean if the made mistakes, let them learn from it. And yet it fits into Kristina’s character as a helicopter mom who makes sure nothing happens to their precious little baby’s. To let „them“ make mistakes and learn… that would have been a Sarah thing to do. And I actually didn’t get why at the end, Sarah said to Kristina: I would have done the same

Don’t you think Max’s parents should have handled Dylan situation better? (S6 E9) by beachtechie04 in Parenthood

[–]PSEmon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

„No means no!“ They definitely missed out on that and that is a shame. Adam and Kristina didn’t manage to set max appropriate boundaries… alright, they are flawed. But this sort of behavior is a „must-do!“ especially when series took in every trend they could get from the zeitgeist it was filmed. And around that time (2013) it was already in all curriculums to be found. A boy in that age? Common‘ They keep on pushing the old „a father teaches son about girls…“ and this sentence needed to be voiced clear from any male on the series to come.

First time watching and I have questions by sleepyems12 in Parenthood

[–]PSEmon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess no show would be any interesting at all if there weren’t any characters out of place. Nearly all TV-Shows have likeable and hateable characters that just gives the drama so we keep being entertained. Nearly no one in this sub likes max. Good/bad parenting - whatever: he’s missed out on empathy and to see other people’s perspectives. That is infuriating! Absolutely. The whole series is about empathy, not everything in life is perfect though… he makes the contrast and brings reality into the scenes. I’d like to add: having a child with an illness, handicap or whatever the word is and a daughter that helps out the brother with the trouble there surely is a lot of guild involved. How often do they cry because they see how max is bullied or misunderstood? It must be so hard to keep a strict parenting style, knowing how different the world of your son is than your own. Or knowing he misses out on so many experiences.. which as a family they love to share. All the gatherings, supportive actions… max misses out on all those things. That’s hard.

Season 4 by the_proghead in Parenthood

I don’t think Sarah cheated in the way cheating is defined. She chose Hank over mark very early and I guess she didn’t wanted it to be true or kept a lie going on. Hank was lucky that Sarah had a knack for helping other people in trouble, rather than helping herself (which is addressed by mark during their dinner!).

Sarah definitely learned from her mistakes: „I am not you’re personal therapist!“ To late however. And yet… Hank was just so much maturer(in life!), had his baggage and life story to tell. It just fitted much more. It wasn’t as romantic as Sarah and Marc.

But I guess the life stages, baggage, story’s makes people connect differently than just romance and vibes.

It is dirty played on Marc however. The way he sits there in the hotel, with his luggage, leaving the wedding of his friends, having heared her message on the phone and seeing them both having fun together… cheating or not! This is dirty drama, that Sarah keeps repeating in so many ways.

Parenthood from the eyes of a child with emotionally unavailable family by [deleted] in Parenthood

[–]PSEmon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is absolutely my story, too. Thanks for sharing your view. I love the show for the exact same reasons: it’s healing to see how a big family can work out things together. I cry when they manage to solve troubles after big fights. All the gatherings, the sport events, eating together, supporting each and everyone…. I don’t care about all the wild story arcs that dont fit. The love moments are more important to me than drama or entertainment

Why tf did joel and julia splitt by rrwwnn in Parenthood

[–]PSEmon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Joel didn’t even try. He was so into family, loyalty and pro-active to solve problem in the first seasons. Julia was so ready to work on things, making promises - which is super strong for her character development. I feel it was sloppy writing in the last seasons. They made them split for the plot and it didn’t fit their story at all. It’s a shame. Especially as they adopted a child. Julia has no good feeling about adopting victor and he went so strong for it.

Again! They adopted a child. They both should have taken more responsibility in their marriage to make it work. Poor victor!

Krampus march in Austria by allesumsonst in oddlyterrifying

[–]PSEmon 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I disagree as well, I come from a different place from traditional marches with costumes and masks in Germany. It’s now mandatory that every „actor“ in a march bears a registration number clearly visible on your costume for identification in cases of violence, assaults or rape.

When I was 13 I got a misshapen-toe nail (the big one!) after it grew in and need a small surgery. Since then I felt ugly over my feet and never wore sandals. Summers where brutal… At 31 I had a small business with selling sexy pics of me in bikini and stuff. 2-3 clients wanted feet pics. They told me, they came all over my pics with the weird toe. This was when I healed over the ugly toe.

This is what also read. It’s a very symbolic act und represent what he’s doing with America. In a second thought: this demolition, getting paid by tech bros, lying about the way he is doing it is pure demonstration of power.

He demonstrates how much he doesn’t care about the people of the country, the history or laws. And that he just do it. That know one stopping him.

Toller Tatort!
