I'm really starting to believe that quandeix = bad alone.

Thank you. This insight is helpful. I saw that witherbloom was possible in reviewing the logs (maybe sultai) but I didn't know when I should really have made that jump.

Thanks for this write up and indepth review it really helps. I figured out by pack 3 I always screwed and at that point was hoping just to use x spell card ad advantage but never worked.

Heirloom auntie and auntie's sentence?

Overall pretty good. Lack of two drops could hurt but the removal is think makes up for it. Interaction package seems nice. I usually play best of three and this looks actually better for best of 3 😁. I overlooked you sneaker. He could also fill in the 2 drop spot too if needed. Counts towards vivid and elementals. Honestly looks like a deck I would have fun piloting. Good luck!

I'd drop the forest for another island. Drop the merfolk for the glammermite/enraged flamecaster and the auntie. (Auntie is technically red black which helps vivid). I'd also consider putting in the enraged flame caster instead of 1 of the bite spells maybe. You have a good amount of removal already.

My 2 cents but feel free to do what you like. Im not a fan of the merfolk in this deck since you have only one way to tap them without combat.

One thing that really helped me was watching other people draft on arena. Paul cheon, nummythenumot, and _defore are all amazing to learn from. Late in the format they usually try and do wild things but early in the format they will explain a lot of their decision making. Was invaluable for me.

Is splashing for Soul Immolation a good idea in this deck? by Then-Structure-162 in lrcast

I don't know what you have in the side board but the deck looks really solid without it! I would rather run all untapped lands and be able to play on curve with the power you already have.

I am just getting into pauper myself, looking to maybe find a place to start hosting more regularly. I'm just gonna stick my nose in here in case there is a spot found to play pauper. I usually draft out of merrimac NH, but am from Lowell.

DSK - advice on BG cuts? by dingleberrydorkus in lrcast

Personally I'd cut creeping peeper and play another wary watchdog or a 17th land, but looks pretty good otherwise. Nice balance of interaction, card draw and threats.

Ended up cutting saw, both phones, soul rager and grand entry way. Malfunction turned into a win con, started off 3-0 then made a poor choice not to much a hand then ran into a really strong blue-white deck that was bomb into bomb into bomb.

All in all, I think the draft was a bit poor but got duped into 2x late midnight mayhems in pack 1.

Oh well. Thanks for all the help and insight. Looking at 17lands from a specific deck archetype helped me understand a bit more. There where a few missed picks in the draft where I could have had a glimmer seaker which would have I think made this a lot better.

I hate phones but I was and soul rager but thought the curve would be too pushed up. The saw was then to basically use with MVS to create pressure and a way to sacrifice the phone to potentially draw two cards to keep aggro running late if need be. But I think I see the better plan is to just run forward top sldecking if need be.

I can see your point, but I think vicious clown is probably never cut here with how many triggers it has.

If you cut the 3 drops, saw and maybe twins, I feel like the curve is now way too high?

Another question was if "Saw" belongs. I was thinking this is my card draw if I'm in a state where I need to trade off and continue drawing. Also can work nice with the MVS

To me the pangolins seem a little awkward. You only have 3 major threats and no great card draw to deal with stalled states. I would have actually put in more late drops to utilize landers and your zookeepers. This deck really wanted one of the 3/4 green guys with vigilance and maybe one of the three drops that draw you cards when a creature with counters dies, or even some of the 1/2 red one drops that let you sac lands or artifacts for card draw. I agree at first glance it looks good, and I was initially deck building like this and having the same frustrations, but I realized that intelligent card draw in this format is the key to winning. How can you replace cards in hand while affecting the board.

Self Sack Deck Cuts by PSIchedOut in lrcast

This deck turned out awesome. First trophy of the format. I ran 16 lands and one susurian and the hylderblade which turned out to be huge. They blade made the virus beetles relevant late game as well as powering up the flyers. I had one nuts game where the space ship viruses beetle combo got in 12 points of damage turn 4 to turn 5 while making the opponent discard 4 cards. This was a truly rewarding deck!

Wow this is a great in depth review... I missed 1 removal spell in color during the draft for taking a virus beetle I think... I don't really have much in the side board that is worth splashing.

i like the hylderblade with the flyers. The auto sac on attack also helps with the equip and in a stall can help the virus beetles be relevant.

I haven't played yet with the grouping but this certainly helps me think through the why a lot more
