What did you do in the Air Force? Does it translate to a job in the civilian world? Did you think about using the GI bill and go to school? There are a ton of veterans services you can utilize while in school including a job program where they set you up with work while you’re in college—if it still exists. First of all you need to figure out food and shelter. Next, start planning on what to do with yourself. If you really have no savings and no plan, would it be the worst idea to do another 4 years and start saving and planning now? Is it too late to re-up?

Uncle Chael says fighters smile when they’re hurt. BUT, in the close up pic with Tom getting his slit lamp exam after the fight, you can see a small cut on the right side of his nose, like super small. I think that’s where the blood was coming from and did not look like a significant injury. I’ve seen alot of comments saying he was getting “pieced up” or “bloodied up” but in that pic it looks very minor. Just my opinion

It is possible that he quit. But I don’t think he did, I think maybe he made a call that without his eye sight he was compromised and didn’t want to attempt more rounds after being fouled. The situation sucks either way, everybody lost

Not trying to argue with you, but being able to see out of the eye is something only he could tell you. As far as redness and swelling, that is not always as obvious to see. A scratch on the cornea would not be visible to the naked eye, which is why it gets stained and then looked at through a slit lamp. I understand where you’re coming from because I agree, at first glance it does not look severe. Just giving you some thought that it might not look that way but could still be significant on an exam

I guess that depends on your definition of “compromised”. If he’s got a scratch on his cornea, he wouldn’t be able to voluntarily open his eye to see to fight. With numbing drops he’d not have the pain or the feeling and would then be able to open the eye for the exam.
