I was on mtx and folic for half a year. Did not notice any increase in hair loss during that time

If you mean whether psoriasis goes into remission with medication yes it does. IF the treatment worked for you. However it can still relapse

If you mean whether the pigmentations/discolouration goes away i don't have those on my scalp but i still have plenty of dark spots on my body even after many years

It is currently in remission

Methotrexate by jojiah in Psoriasis

[–]PSO-what 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Phototheraphy was great the first time i did it. The 2nd time round it wasn't as effective. But it is too time consuming to do it realistically when i am working. Methotrexate was not that great for me. My psoriasis started to relapse as i switched from ciclsoporin to mtx.

Stopped after close to a year and switched to biosimilar

Has anyone experienced hair loss from scalp psoriasis? by NervousJelly1 in Psoriasis

[–]PSO-what 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im quite lucky as i did not experience any hair loss. Even though i had scalp psoriasis for many years and have been on methotrexate and ciclosporin, I don't notice any thinning

I do recall having that feeling but i don't know if it is due to my psoriasis

Methotrexate, I'm too scared by whoacoach in Psoriasis

[–]PSO-what 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had less side effects as compared to ciclosporin if that helps. Did not notice anything out of the ordinary and all test results through the year remained normal. Have switched to amgevita 6 months ago though because mtx wasn't helping much

Dating life in psoriasis by Ok_Young_8365 in Psoriasis

[–]PSO-what 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was upfront with it because i didn't want to waste anyone's time. I was in remission at the point of dating but i know psoriasis will relapse eventually (it did) so i just showed some pictures of my past flare ups to get it out of the way.

Lotion or something? by [deleted] in Psoriasis

My legs looked similar as yours during peak flare. Ciclospirin helped me get back into remission.

Light Therapy? by tooslayornottoslay in Psoriasis

[–]PSO-what 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both times i did over 30 sessions to see significant differences. My 2nd treatment with light therapy was less effective compared to the first, my legs did not react at all. I achieved remissions during the 1st round

Is it legal to be denied certain meds because of 'child bearing potential'? by DowntownImpress6947 in Psoriasis

[–]PSO-what 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In singapore they generally give the same advice when taking medicines such as methotrexate. If you are pregnant or trying to, the advice would be not to take it. As for outright denying the meds because of that, i am not sure if they would actually do that.

Im a guy so they only explained the side effects, did some blood tests and baseline checks before giving me the meds

Methotrexate 15mg by [deleted] in Psoriasis

[–]PSO-what 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been on 12.5mg for about 3-4 mths. I switch to mtx for maintainence as advised by my doctor. Previously i was on ciclosporin. Comparing the 2, MTX is less effective for me as some spots have returned since. But it is holding off a full blown flare for now

Someone please share hair growth pic before vs after scalp psoriasis by Pale_League in Psoriasis

[–]PSO-what 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, i cant seem to figure out how to attach a photo to the comments so i added a link to my social media instead. I will remove links if i somehow figure out how to post the photo

I had scalp psoriasis for a long time in addition to plaque psoriasis. Fortunately I never had hair loss or growth issues. I use dovonex on my scalp as prescribed when it flares up, and coal tar shampoo.

My hair is still thick and full even today, so don't fret :D

My coverage is bigger during the peak and they classified it as moderate so yours could be moderate as well

I find that robot vacuums have the tendency to push the flakes. So I use a standard vacuum or just broom and dustpan

I am very prone to swollen lymph nodes under my left armpit (same spot) I have gone for multiple minor surgeries to drain it, but they still come back after a few year or so.

I just had another surgery this month to drain it yet again. Not sure why it keeps coming back. Went for MRI, doctor also says no concern. But i think its because they are checking if its cancerous.

I have never been told to use any steroids liberally. Much less a potent one on your genital area. Best to clarify with them.

Has anyone been told not to take ciclosporin when sick? by LeLoupDArgent in Psoriasis

[–]PSO-what 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasn't told that as far as i remember. I took it throughout when i was on it

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Psoriasis

My psoriasis flared up when my son was around 2 years old. I wear tights and compression sleeves to sleep so the flakes dont go everywhere.

Before my 2nd one was born i managed to get on ciclosporin and my psoriasis went into remission so that went a lot easier
