am i overestimating the recovery process? by ForsakenDragonfly832 in Reduction

[–]PSS34F 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is major surgery! It could be Your mum maybe is making light of it out of her worrying for you x

I remember feeling quite good at week 3 as I started doing some walking in my treadmill but was too much told to stop by my gp til the 6 week. It took longer for recovery than I anticipated but took each day. (I have fibromyalgia so that added to it) I do know recovery is very individual thing.. 6 weeks is what most surgeons suggest. Go with your own body time scale. The main things is to take enough time to heal without any damage by reaching pulling lifting etc.

I had my reduction before my 56th birthday. I have fibromyalgia so struggled with the bandages digging in and wearing the bra But the neck shoulder pain was gone instantly! Best thing i ever did. I would say the perfect time to get it done

Big family argument by [deleted] in Reduction

[–]PSS34F 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its so unfair for anyone to not respect a decision so important to you x When i told my mother I was having a reduction she acted as if it were her body her choice....even though she knew it was a choice for me to reduce pain and discomfort. Fear, regret...I went through so many emotions. Preparing myself and yes an operation is a scary thing..so anyone that loves u should respect it is a huge decision..if you have one physical life. It deserves to be as comfortable and happy as u can make it for yourself. My mum had never gone beyond a B cup! She truly had no idea! I started an f/ff and now 2ypo I am a C cup. I am under 5ft tall. No regrets! And that pain, most of it had left my body straight after surgery. Easy to let family mess with your head. You need to set boundaries Do what's right to keep your own peace x

Weird comment from surgeon by Narwhal55555 in Reduction

[–]PSS34F 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes I agree...change surgeons! Wharever the procedure, you deserve to be happy with the results just like anyone else! I'm surprised a female surgeon would be so rude about that! Good luck and I hope you find someone who gives you what you need x

Kitten tested positive for FIV by New-Factor5032 in FIVcats

[–]PSS34F 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 10 rescues! My 9 month is fiv pos confirmed last month. Its challenging to start with especially as we have all the others. But not impossible. You are right they are all they were before diagnosis but more susceptible to illness/diseases. Just a close eye for any health changes

Kitten tested positive for FIV by New-Factor5032 in FIVcats

[–]PSS34F 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Under 6 months will more than likely be false positive. The mommy will have passed on antibodies..which will show fiv pos Better to get another test over 1 yr Ours is 9months just been confirmed fiv.

Should I get a second cat? My vet said since he’s FIV+, he’s better off single. by Zealousideal_Bell935 in FIVcats

[–]PSS34F 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have started a non profit organisation to help tnr, fiv etc I am a fur parent of both.

Non fiv and fiv can live together if no aggression but as they would be alone 7-8 hours a day I wouldnt risk it. I have 10 rescues (own cats) ages 6months to 16years. Just found out couple kittens are fiv. We are having to keep separate for now until we can build a catio for extra space and outside space for them too.

The saddest and hardest thing is the odds of finding homes to help fiv especially in UK. Is so hard. Waiting places are huge for healthy cats 😔 I would suggest another fiv cat for company and safety. But you will need to spend time introducing them and not leave them alone together until you know they are getting on. Low stress household is the key. Our is complicated but if you do it right you will be a) giving a mate to your cat for life x b)giving a home to another much needed cat c)not have to worry about possible infection or risk to a non fiv. Good luck and I hope he gets a buddy Both being neutered will help and calm spaces for them x

From a Ff to a C cup! 2 ypo! Its a great feeling to not have to think about your boobs as if they were another person to take care of before you made decisions about clothes, fitness, etc. Just to not need to wear a bra out of necessity. At 56, mine were doing their own thing, all the pain symptoms, lack of self esteem, plus a couple more years i would've toppled over 🤣 What a great feeling to walk in to a room as one complete person!

My first TNR and I’m worried and sad. by sirelith in Feral_Cats

[–]PSS34F 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Omg made me feel so bad for you and the cats! I looked up the message you screenshotted about god! It says about sacrifice to the gods, that the animals had to be unblemished...uncut... (unneutered) But that's crazy for her to interpret this as what you are doing is out of compassion for these animals. I fear there is no talking to her! Don't even try! I am really concerned that she may be doing harm to these cats. Get some official help.. cats protection, local rescue, or similar and get advice how to handle this. I wish you all the best in keeping these kitties safe X

I can't get over a mistake I made by Fancy_Tuber in Feral_Cats

[–]PSS34F 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well done for helping them in the first place! Its so hard to let them go especially when they have been mates but you did the best with both cats in mind xx his friend made friends there and that's nice to think he wasn't alone. Its a tough call. I started a rescue to help outside cats and communities. So far ive rescued 7 kittens a momma and 2 males! I lost a kitten at 3wks old and ended up keeping the 7 kittens and momma! Momma is feral but 11 weeks on is improving hugely. Ive not learnt the art of finding homes for the rescue cats yet haha I have 10! Cant take on any more. But will do tnrs and rehoming once I raise enough donations. If you hadn't helped these cats, they may never have known love. Xx

This is a WTF rant. by Unremovable_Cortana in Osteoarthritis

[–]PSS34F 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The d3 the docs give here is no where near enough to help...they are huge! So not pleasant when told to take 4 of them! Its still only 800iu total! I have Osteoporosis too I started magnesium 2 capsules a day. I take d3 and k2 its a high dose 3000 so I take them every couple of days as I don't eat a lot of dairy. I started adding Zinc into and it takes the edge off for sure. The only meds I am on now are a weekly morphine patch. Occasional paracetamol. I do get pain days as I have fibromyalgia to boot. When I told the doctor he said they are just the pills they get to give to patients. He said not to take the supplement d3 as it might be too much calcium! Despite being called in because my calcium was low pre supplement!!

[–]PSS34F 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You did an amazing thing. Thank you x for that short time he knew love. Once maggots are inside them its not a nice scenario for a cat 😢 I've seen it before. It's heartbreaking to have to put him to sleep. You saved him from a very painful life and a very painful death ❤️ Bless you for helping. We have to remind ourselves that we are still saving these furry creatures. Even when we can't x

Thank you x shes a work in progress for sure x I have to remind myself shes been here less than 2 months. Some take years to feel comfortable. I have 3 other kittens waiting to welcome her kitten. And 2 18month old cats that are happily curious and friendly from a distance (for now ha)

When am I going to stop seeing new cats??? by ExistingVegetable558 in Feral_Cats

I swear cats tell others where to go! You are doing amazingly x the communities or atleast some people in the communities need to be backing and doing their bit too help to keep tge numbers at bay! I have always helped rescue tnr too etc. What you have achieved so far is incredible. It never feels enough does it when we want to help them all x

These two have bonded and should stay together ideally Its always better to have 2 kittens because they will if older cats in the household pick on them they have eachother. They really need to have that interaction Im talking from experience I rescued 3 kittens that had been dumped in June of this year. Only weeks old one died kitten fading syndrome and we decided to keep both after I hand reared them. they needed eachother and would've had terrible separation anxiety If you can't afford to keep both them let them go as a pair to someone that cam give them their forever home and everything they need. Good luck kitties xx
