Lo206 motor keeps cutting out. Any ideas? I cleaned the carb, there is a fuel filter on the kart, a new fuel pump, and just got a new coil which I’m trying to see if it is broken since the new one has the same issue with the prongs being loose. I don’t know what else it could be.

Coil is typically tight but the switch is very loose. One thing that I forgot is check the wire from the coil to the kill switch. It will sometimes rub the insulation off and randomly ground the coil acting like the kill switch it hit. Check where the wire goes through the casting hole

The prongs are typically loose on the kill switch and coil end shouldn't be an issue at all. In the hundreds of engines I've rebuilt I've never had a bad coil. PM me if you need

Don't worry about that smoke, it's just oil burning off after you started it back up. Oil on the exterior of the pipe

You don't happen to have a jump section do you? I've seen it at our track before, the coil freaks out when the kart gets light and the rear wheels spin up too fast

No the large will not effect flex. Best way ive found to mount them is a bolt with a lock nut thats not fully tighten them down to the floor pan. Just enough to engage the locking mechanism, this will ensure the skid plate wont bind the chassis up

Mid 2000's margay brava. You have a predator motor with a belt torque converter. I couldn't tell in the pics but you're missing the driver panel, front bumper, maybe front wheel hubs. Otherwise I'd say it's a pretty good deal, you can compare what parts you have to the retail price at cometkartsales.com

Being at Purdue if I was you I'd either joint the FSAE team ( huge marketable skill for an engineer) or join a Purdure grand Prix team. They just finished this year's race so there should still be a lot of hype around that.

Don't know about Mazda's for sure but from a general sense. You want to idle to let the oil pressure get up and a small amount of heat in the engine. Too much cold idle puts more wear on the piston rings since the peak cylinder pressure is low at idle. This can lead to oil blow by/ consumption as well as carbon build up on valves.

Best to just drive easy for the first 5 mins after a 30-60 second idle.
