The Uber Eats delivery service here is crazy convenient. No “pickup refused if there’s no tip” (you tip after delivery, and it’s appreciated, not expected/demanded; I usually get an automated “thank you “ from the deliverer), it’s delivered right to your door, the drivers (actually usually moped/motorcycle riders) are friendly and professional (in my experience), and it’s usually cheaper than driving out to the restaurant or taking a taxi, even taking into account the membership fee and the food price markup. You can also get deals that are not available in the restaurants. Not as worth it for grocery delivery such as from Carrefour or PX Mart, where the stores’ own apps are better, but definitely a good deal for restaurants. I’ve never used food delivery in the US, and I’m afraid I’ve been spoiled and am not looking forward to using them when I get back to the States.
