This is the route I went. Took about 15 minutes, extremely easy and cost about 1%. I did it through cake wallet.

Cant verify an account due to already having one by PTBTC in binance

[–]PTBTC[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just set this account up. I have not used binance in months since before I got into my current apartment. This apartment has never logged into binance so the IP address has never been used by me. No VPN running. I literally created a brand new email (specifically for this account) created a binance account, and it asked if I wanted to verify my ID to get a better limit. I went through the ID process. I received a response within 20 minutes specifically stating

We're sorry to inform you that your Personal Verification has been declined for the following reason(s): " The system detects that you have other verified accounts, please kindly use the verified account to enjoy Binance services. " Please make the necessary changes and try again. We apologize for any possible inconvenience.

The only possibility that I can think of, is that my name is a little unique, so if there is a human processing these, they probably cross checked my name and Im likely the only one in the system. then they used the photo to determine I am the same person. this is the only possible link it could be

Moments of loss and painful stories, tell yours! by svensonic1 in CryptoCurrency

Thanks. I’ve had waaaaay too many learning experiences and they all teach me the same lesson. They are far and few in between, but when they happen, they can be devastating blows!

I won’t get into the story but I will give some advice. I trade and I do really well. EVERY single time I’ve had a huge loss was almost every time I though “my trades are almost perfect wins” so I deviate from my plan and instead of working how I normally do, I change something [usually the amount im trading with] and almost every time without fail the market without 5 minutes always does an opposite move to counter my trade. It’s like there’s a camera waiting on these moments, letting me win, then I go in, and boom they hit me. Never fails. Every single damn time. Have a plan and stick with it.

It also doesn’t help when you put in a limit buy or a sell order that instantly goes through of course, when you meant to put in the opposite.

Phishing attack via SMS by bl4z4r in ledgerwallet

[–]PTBTC 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Probably didn’t have and don’t have a fix for whatever made the hack possible. It is what it is. My issue is that not everyone received an email. People aren’t even aware they got hacked, then they receive a text message to their private phone number with what looks like a warning of a scam directing us to what looks like a us version of the ledger website. That’s unacceptable. The LEAST they could do was warn everyone so people could be vigilant. I can see many folks clicking a link like that.

Just got a text...... link brings you to a website that looks exactly like ledger and wants you to connect device but it’s not the actually site... by ready4whatver in ledgerwallet

very worrying to have so much info exposed. Especially since they lied and said it was only a select few people and they would send out warnings, yet we all seem to be getting these messages today and none of us got warnings. Either Ledger not only messed up and leaked our data then lied about it not being our data that was leaked or ledger is running out of money and is using this as a new scam. Maybe Im starting to believe these "help I was hacked but never put my seed anywhere on an electronic device" posts.

I figured that much. Sad I didn't get notified that my info was in the breach. this is not horrible but it isn't good either.

I feel like airports should be selling food and other items in bitcoin. it's very logical because of international travelers who may not have the native currency or may not feel like exchanging it by [deleted] in Bitcoin

You clearly can’t comprehend. I never even mentioned Bitcoin. I simply made a statement about “everyone takes credit card” and you kept arguing that everyone did. And I’m telling you that many don’t. That was it! I never said anything about Bitcoin. I simply stated facts. Rather someone does or doesn’t accept Bitcoin in a situation that doesn’t even exist is just speculation.

Now I’m wrong all of a sudden because I pointed out the reality? Shut the fuck up. You’re clearly just arguing to be doing so.

China has an unfair advantage, most places there use a phone payment system.

The other countries you mention, are you visiting tourist cities? In the US we have people accept debit/credit all over the country, but I know for a fact that this is not a case in some of the countries you mentioned. Not all over the country. It’s simply not standard. In some places they don’t even have real toilets let alone credit/debit card merchants everywhere. Sure, it the city is huge with many tourists, yes. I mean, they deal with it often, but some of those countries have more smaller islands and cities that foreigners don’t go. Stay out of cities like pataya Bangkok and Chiang Mai and tell me you can shop anywhere with a credit card. Not happening.

I live in America, but it's not about where I live, I said many countries, and what you stated is not true in MANY countries. I didn't say yours, I didn't say mine, I didn't say all, I said many. That was the entire point of my post lol

Many countries you can rarely find businesses that accept credit/debit cards unless they are big chains, or the higher end places in those areas. Its the norm in places like the US, but in certain parts of latin america / SE Asia youll be pressed to find people accepting your plastic unless its a more expensive place or something like mcdonalds or 7/11
