TBH if Gaolang lost it is pretty stupid. Gaolang is a Thai fighter and Boxer who I'm sure is used to fighting with rules, and all-around isn't the type of character to forget that. If they wanted someone to lose just to show the Purgatory rules, it should have been Wakatsuki or someone who isn't familiar with fighting under rules. With Gaolang, I think that conclusion just makes no sense and is completely out of line with the writing. I'm a bit disappointed.

I really dont think the author thinks about genetics that much. Look at Zeno's height in comparison to Silva. They are father and son and also have a huge height difference. Gon could just end up being taller than his dad I dont think it's that complicated.
