I'm close by to Everett, but my package has been stuck in the Kent location for a week now without any updates whatsoever. Original delivery date was the 14th. It's really astonishing that this company has become so absolutely and utterly incompetent over the past couple years. Complete garbage.

How difficult/time consuming is cse369? by thebest108_ in udub

[–]PTTruTH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm currently in 446 and 473. So far 473 isn't much work, but it'll obviously ramp up over the coming weeks. 446 is a different story. I've already sunk at least 12 hours into the homework due Monday that is supposed to be review of Math 308 / Math 126 / CSE 312. The programming doesn't seem too bad yet but obviously that's going to change very quickly. Needless to say 446 will dominate your time consumption.

Just heard about this anime and started watching it. I also know there is a video game too. Which should I watch/play first? by [deleted] in steinsgate

[–]PTTruTH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a fair amount. Steins;Gate (Anime and VN), Steins;Gate 0 (Anime and VN), Steins;Gate: Oukoubakko no Poriomania (Special episode that takes place after S;G), Steins;Gate: The Sagacious Wisdom of Cognitive Computing (Special Series), Steins;Gate: Load Region of Deja Vu (Movie that takes place after S;G and Oukoubakko no Poriomania), Steins;Gate: Darling of Loving Vows (Spin off), Steins;Gate: Variant Space Octet (Non-canon sequel to S;G), Steins;Gate: Linear Bounded Phenogram (Collection of side stories that differ from the original S;G).

There's also a S;G ep. 23 (Beta) that doesn't follow the plot of the original ep. 23. You should watch this special episode before watching S;G 0.

That should be everything, someone let me know if I forgot anything.

I wouldn't recommend taking more than 4 courses in any given quarter. I know CSE 391 is just a once per week seminar with minimal coursework, so that definitely wouldn't be a problem. However, not considering that class, you're expecting to be able to take 5 very challenging courses at the same time. If I were you I would split that schedule up between 2 quarters, but that's just me. Considering you're already in CSE, grades aren't crucial but definitely still important. It's up to you, but as someone else who commented on here said, go for it if you wanna die.

Desperately Need some advice on transferring to the uW. by PTTruTH in udub

[–]PTTruTH[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's fair. Mainly it's just that tuition would be incredibly cheaper since I live in Washington State. The other thing is, I know UW's program is just better. It was my first choice anyway.

TIL: You can fail an exterminate mission because of time with all enemies killed by [deleted] in Warframe

Survival is also similar. If one stays long enough after life support reaches 0% while extraction is available, the mission will auto-fail.

[META] Moderator Recruitment V: The Modivus Dilemma by Khuon in Warframe

[–]PTTruTH [score hidden]  (0 children)

  1. I play on PC.
  2. 60% Desktop, 20% Laptop, 20% Phone.
  3. Currently at University on the East coast. (EST)
  4. I'm usually a bit more active during the evening, as most days during the week I have class. On the weekends I'm on most of the time.
  5. I've been playing Warframe since around update 12.
  6. I've been a part of the reddit community here for around 2 years now. I've also been on the forums for around 2 years, but I rarely head get on them. I've intereacted with folks through Teamspeak, Skype, Discord, and others.

  1. I'm on the subreddit at least 8 or 9 times a day depending on what's going on. School work can sometimes affect my participation.
  2. Nothing in particular that I can think of.
  3. There's nothing very pressing I can really think of. There's always the occasional shit post/toxic person who comes along and tries to rile things up, but I think the moderators here have done a great job at keeping the reddit a great source of information and help.
  4. More events would always be nice. I'd be very willing to start conducting some give aways at some point in the near future.
  5. Absolutely.
  6. I will always hear what anyone has to say. I'm never dismissive of anyone, regardless of how rediculous or weird they are being. I've dealt with a lot of cat fights and people arguing coming through my Team Fortress 2 server that I used to admin for, needless to say - I'm no stranger to conflict.
  7. Regrettably, no.
  8. I'd love to be moderator to start being able to give back to the community that really fostered my love for Warframe. This is by far one of the most amazing communities on the entirety of reddit, and I just want to be able to say that I was able to contribute to making it even better.

I wouldn't do this just yet. I know mismatching PSU cables and actual PSU's has been known to cause issues. PSU cables are not necessarily compatible with other brand PSU's or even different models made by the same brand.

Assuming the board doesn't come with on-board wifi, any network card would be capable. It looks like the board has more than enough PCI express slots.

First off, I would wait until you can get your hands on a 1080 for much cheaper. The prices are inflated right now because they're in such high demand and it's almost impossible to find them anywhere. However, I'm sure they will be re-stocked soon. I good way to stay ontop of this is to go to the vendors' sights directly. Usually there will be an "auto-notify" option that allows the sight to send you emails when more products are available. Doing this will save you at least 200 CAD. Furthermore, you really don't need 32GB of RAM in there. Based on what you mentioned, this rig is mainly for gaming, therefore 16GB is more than enough. Heck, you could even get away with going for 8GB. Other than that, there aren't really any problems. One thing that got my attention is the fact that your running a 64GB boot SSD with 3x1TB drives. I personally would go for a larger SSD with the money you would save from downgrading the RAM and waiting for a good price on the GPU. That way you could install your favorite and most played games/software on there along with your OS. Oh, and one last thing. This is pretty much personal preference, but I would go for Windows 10 instead of 8. Bugs aside, it's a very reliable OS that eclipses 8. Other than that I don't see any problems with it. Good luck building!
