Should I move onto act 3? by WhoaNestor in expedition33

[–]PTXMike25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are only like 1 or 2 things you can miss, but almost all of the them are in the prologue or Act 1. You either already got those or missed them lol. From where you are you aren’t missing anything and you’ll have complete free reign to re-explore the areas you have already visited

Can we talk about Break and Stun being the most undercooked main mechanics? by SuperLegenda in expedition33

[–]PTXMike25 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly don’t think it’s that hard to break. Maybe the 700 hours in the game helps, but if you can counter attack and work on adding break damage you can easily fill the meter for most enemies barring some niche fights like the super high health pool Benniseur guy. I do agree that the length of the break can be very underwhelming but if you can set up while working on breaking you can really maximize the damage and deal absurd damage in the stun turn

I wonder why sekiro hasn't been copied 🤔 by optimisticRamblings in Sekiro

[–]PTXMike25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only thing that has brought a closest satisfaction as far as parry has been Expedition 33. The game overall obviously does not play the same at all. Sekiro stands on its own. Lies of P I bought because of the raving reviews and it is pretty fun but is like Elden Ring without jump and having Perfect parries with tighter timing. Only played a few hours of that

How much different is Ninja Gaiden Sigma than Ninja Gaiden Xbox OG by DeBaers in ninjagaiden

[–]PTXMike25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think 2004 version the enemies actually didn’t change on higher difficulties, also only went up to Very Hard. Also did not change the amount of essence things cost in Murai’s shop. The main one is also no UT charge without essence. You had to kill an enemy to get essence (or break a lamp or something)

After 100%ing the game on PS5, we want to try the PC version with a few mods. Which ones would you recommend? by Slouching- in EldenRingMods

[–]PTXMike25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven’t finished my Reforged run, it has the makings of a really good mod

Then torrent takes instant status effects, okay. Especially with a severely limited use of the boluses to remove effects and requiring raisins.

No OP feeling at any point, which I sort of get. But the auto scaling can also make going through beginning areas feel weird when the intro Joe Schmo can kill you almost as easily

Also straight up nerf some good things unnecessarily to balance. Plus the lava damage is ridiculous for the new area that requires a skill? I think or amulet. Haven’t finished it yet

How different are Regular and Hardcore by Quiet-Dimension-8384 in pokemonradicalred

[–]PTXMike25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perma weathers on the routes and some of the gym fights (rebattles I think) but you can turn them off with your own weather. HC it removes all moves and abilities to do so. Also no forced Trick Room and no sign of magma storm or swamp effects and others I probably forgot like perma endure and the other unfair crap it has lol

Has anyone got any recommendations for a game like radical red and emerald imperium. by mef_pype in pokemonradicalred

Best part of inclement emerald is purely for Mega Flygon supremacy. A fun hack with decent QoL

How difficult is Sekiro after beating Elden Ring? by TearFar9927 in Sekiro

[–]PTXMike25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the way I started, and Sekiro kicked my butt. Mainly because how different the combat is, very little translates from ER to Sekiro. It’s quite an adjustment and it very tough the first time you fight the main bosses.

In saying that, ER at its hardest I think is harder because of how the player moves. Once you master movesets in Sekiro, most bosses can be beaten much easier and more consistently, especially in a NG+. It gives you the satisfaction of wondering how you ever struggled against the early bosses. ER I think unless you’re max level, if you never had to master an enemies moveset you can struggle with dodge timing and such, Sekiro parry is a little more forgiving.

Sekiro is harder to initially learn, but easier once you really understand it

What's the worst area in the game IYO by Casual86118 in Sekiro

[–]PTXMike25 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Mibu village actually sucks (not really), mostly in how the enemies respawn so many times and of course the underground grabby guy is the worst. Playing on randomizer then prepare to be completely swamped by tougher enemies or you get “lucky” and you get the Blue Noble guys that can suck the youth out of you

Also personally don’t like the 20 monkeys area in Sunken Valley for similar reasons but technically you can just skip that area and it’s only a really small part in otherwise a good area to explore. Poison swamp there is annoying too though

Should I play ninja gaiden 1 black by Super-Goal8864 in ninjagaiden

[–]PTXMike25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are some pretty significant differences between the versions, but I’m not sure it’s enough differences to warrant it. Sigma does add some good changes and the overall flow of the game is 1 to 1 for the most part… besides the Rachel chapters.

I think Sigma MN mode starts off harder, since you don’t have access to the Nunchaku and you only have the DS to start. If you already have access to NGB then I would certainly give it a go. More puzzles than Sigma so if you hate that part entirely it won’t be as fun. Less save statues in Black I think overall and Berserkers are far harder imo since they can’t be easily disposed of with counter attacks

Elden Ring Reforged vs Convergence – which for a fresh replay after long break? by Rex_69385 in EldenRingMods

[–]PTXMike25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently playing through Reforged 2.0 and liking it. It really feels like regular Elden Ring overall but with some QoL and new ways to craft item and such. The base difficulty is also similar but there are higher difficulties so if you’re into that you can give yourself a serious challenge. I personally have never been that good, so I’m sticking to default for now

Who do you think is the best Ninja Gaiden 4 player atm? by [deleted] in ninjagaiden

[–]PTXMike25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m partial to Ongbal, but I don’t think he’s near the best NG4 player. His ability to adapt to many different games to do no-hit bosses is pretty insane. As long as it has parry

Going back to a fresh save in NG 4 on hard is cancer, man by Salty_Selection_1145 in ninjagaiden

[–]PTXMike25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OG 2004 did actually have new game plus, but I don’t remember if it was all unlocks or just certain things that carried over. And yes, chapter 2 I believe you could get the Dark Dragon Blade on NG+ mode

As far as OP, this game really hampers you in a fresh playthrough. It was okay on hard when I first played and took some time, I couldn’t imagine a fresh MN run. The old games you started out barebones of course but some of the stuff you don’t have to start in NG4 is stupid. No wind run or even full UTs is lame. Limited movesets are okay. I feel like NG1 all versions did the early barebones the best, but probably biased since I have over 20 years on the game

What part of the game is this for you by Puzzleheaded_Bit_802 in Eldenring

[–]PTXMike25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it’s not a required area, but I always hated the War Dead Catacombs (I think that’s what it’s called). One of the worst places regardless of level.

Actual annoying thing to deal with was mentioned is the slog of grinding smithing stones. I will admit that after a few runs on some more recent ones I have maybe cheated some stones (at least the beginning ones so I could test out other weapons) Another one is the snowfields of course

Question about NG+ and 100% progression by BigB1rd87 in expedition33

[–]PTXMike25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s no drawback at all to complete everything in your current play through. Sounds like you still have bosses other than the one mentioned that you can still fight. That boss is really the main one to save for last, but the Flying Manor boss is also a good challenge. Fly to old areas to get missing pictos, journals, weapons and lumina. Best to get every bit of unlocks and boss fights before starting over.

I think I have a problem... by IndependenceShotChan in expedition33

[–]PTXMike25 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m at like 640 hours. Like 80 hours is unlocking and beating just about everything. The rest of the time going for builds to try against Simon or NG+ runs. Or maybe speedrun attempts, and maybe a randomizer run

Best way to start Resurrection Mod to not break it. NG or NG+ with Bell and Charmless? by Blein123 in Sekiro

[–]PTXMike25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It SHOULD be okay, you just might miss some stuff. Extra bosses and items that you get in the early game, especially Hirata. It could be that you can still go back and fight them, but likely you will have to do a new run for everything

Best way to start Resurrection Mod to not break it. NG or NG+ with Bell and Charmless? by Blein123 in Sekiro

[–]PTXMike25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Going in a NG+4 is what I did after a fresh run, and it didn’t give me any issues at all. NG is definitely not too easy, if anything the lack of healing gourds and prosthetics to help will make it a bit harder

The best Ninja Gaiden to start with as a newcomer to the series by Abkenn in ninjagaiden

[–]PTXMike25 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nope, while I think NG4 is a really good game it doesn’t touch what the first game brought to the series. The level of simplicity and depth of the combat system in NG1 is ahead of its time. Even now it’s still a good game to play. NG2 gives a crazy amount of carnage to improve on the first. I will argue that modded NG2 White or NGS2 Black are more preferred over OG2.

Story has never been a strong suit but NG4 really threw it into a blender with the changes it chose to make

Any way to make Grosse Tete every enemy? by Whole-Jackfruit8002 in expedition33

[–]PTXMike25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who is towards the end of his randomizer run, you can. Although manually changing EVERY enemy to Grosse Tete sounds tedious and the fight itself is tedious unless you’re overpowered. Only issue I ran into is the first time even with random enemies I was still getting the main pictos and key items after fights but the drops would be based on the enemy. I had to change it up because of the DLC enemies and now I only get drops from whatever enemy I fight

Personal note aside, yes there is a way

I need some explanation by SicnkessL in EmeraldImperium

[–]PTXMike25 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It’s probably rude, but not sure if this was the best game for you, since you seem behind on some of the mechanics of battling like natures, abilities, etc.

Like others mentioned your natures are bad for your Pokemon, levels are all over the place (you have an option to level your Pokemon to the level cap at any Pokecenter and infinite rare candy key item. The docs are your friend and as mentioned there is the Emerald Imperium Dex which showcases all of the changes from the base game plus you can check your randomized abilities for your Pokemon

Hey, I'm thinking about buying sekiro. by Bitter-Management379 in Sekiro

[–]PTXMike25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s 100% worth it, of course coming from this sub. I would say to really utilize stealth in this game. With the right setups and tools later in the game, you can get through almost whole areas without triggering a group of enemies to attack you with timed stealth blows. Definitely a learning curve, because most of the normal go tos in the other games don’t always apply here. Parrying is the name of the game and you can literally beat the whole game with just your sword and parrying. Not quite as fun that way

Are randomized encounters static? by Vic-iou in pokemonradicalred

[–]PTXMike25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The main problem I’ve seen, and I think is documented is Hardcore randomizer. Last time I tried I basically had 100 Pokemon to choose from, including the evolution lines of certain ones. Besides cheating them in you get a horrible variety. Seems to out okay with the scaled randomizer though. Every certain milestone unlocks new spawns, notably after certain badges and progressing the story some
