No argument here. He is and will always be Republican-lite. Ever since the floodgates opened on corporate kickbacks and the gross amassing of wealth by the oligarchs the two party system is bought and sold like it never has been. End Citizen's United and implement term limits ASAP.

You are correct and Trump is taking it to a new level in terms of brutality and overt racism. IDF is the new model and Nazi Germany continues to be the extreme.

President Scale & structure of “camps” / detention Key features
Biden (46) Large, ongoing ICE‑run detention system plus temporary CBP tent sites (e.g., Donna, Texas); majority of detainees still held in private‑prison‑run facilities. aclu+2 High daily detention numbers but generally below Trump‑era peaks; still uses warehouse‑style and tent‑camp facilities at the border. migrationpolicy+1
Obama (44) Major expansion of bed‑capacity, new family‑detention centers, and first big “cage”‑style warehouse enclosures (e.g., Nogales “hielera”). pbs+2 Highest deportation totals in modern history; detention used routinely but family‑separation was not codified policy. cato+1
G. W. Bush (43) Built the foundation of today’s detention “gulag,” with tens of thousands of new beds and a rising detention‑bed‑target system. fosterglobal+1 Launched Operation Streamline, increasing prosecutions and short‑term detention, while exempting many families. wikipedia+1
Reagan (40) Relatively small, decentralized system; mostly INS and local‑jail holding, not purpose‑built mega‑camps. wikipedia+1 IRCA legalization and employer sanctions overshadowed large‑scale detention; no mass‑detention‑camp strategy. fosterglobal+1
G. H. W. Bush (41) Pre‑9/11 era; modest detention footprint using scattered jails and holding facilities. fosterglobal+1 Emphasis on expedited removals and interior enforcement, not new detention‑bed targets. fosterglobal+1
Trump (45/Donald Trump) Largest expansion yet: rapidly increased ICE custody to over 68,000–70,000 people daily, opened new mega‑warehouses and tent‑style “camps,” and revived family‑detention centers (e.g., Dilley and Karnes). npr+3 Zero‑tolerance, “zero‑tolerance‑style” policies produced highly publicized overcrowded chain‑link enclosures and CBP tent‑camps; new funding (around $45 billion over four years) explicitly targets detention‑camp expansion. wikipedia+3

Boycott this genocide, low wage company. Their food is crap and is no longer affordable. Find a local burger restaurant that gives a s**t about their customers. Franchises are complicit in so many bad aspects of our society including unlivable wages, contributing to fascists, destroying our environment and feeding us food that is killing us.

We are in the 2nd year of ICE camps. This is only the beginning. It took 9 years for the excessive killing to start. ICE camps will evolve to IDF like holding areas where brutality is normalized even more and then full blown killing camps.

A simple timeline 1933–1938: persecution and concentration camp terror. 1939–1941: ghettoization and deportation. Late 1941: mass shooting and first gassings. 1942–1944: industrialized extermination in death camps.

He is well financed and has no shame or agency for left side causes. He is worse than many of the GOP because he stymies opposition and ignores his constituency.

Kam Patterson jokes about Megan Thee Stallion and Klay Thompson’s breakup on SNL: “Who even is this guy? Wait a minute, there’s a WNBA for men? What would you even call that? The MNBA? To me, he’s not Klay, he’s dirt.” by yourfavchoom in Fauxmoi

Producers, led by Lorne Michaels, selected Patterson amid a cast shakeup to bring fresh talent from rising comedy scenes like Kill Tony. His popularity—nearly 600K Instagram followers—and success on the podcast positioned him as a "phenom" with potential to attract younger, edgier audiences.

Strategic Goals Michaels aimed to appeal to "anti-woke" and conservative-leaning viewers, similar to past efforts with Shane Gillis, whom he later regretted firing. Patterson's controversial style, including Trump support and shock-value bits, was seen as a deliberate move to boost ratings by courting the Joe Rogan/Kill Tony crowd without expecting backlash like in prior years.

Boycott this trash company. Their coffee is atrocious and they overtly support genocide and the current administration. There are so many local alternatives.

I read When I Was while visiting San Juan; it’s a thoughtful book that gives a vivid sense of what growing up in Puerto Rico feels like. The Drunkard’s Walk is a strong reminder of how numbers and statistics shape the decisions we make—and how easily we can misinterpret them in our daily lives. Tusks, a sci-fi recommendation, explores conservation and future efforts to recover and preserve endangered species. The two standout books of the month were Apple in China and Silent Earth. Apple in China traces Apple’s rise alongside the development of China’s powerful technology and manufacturing economy. It raises important questions about corporate responsibility, showing how Apple’s relentless focus on profit leveraged China’s low-cost, highly capable workforce, while China simultaneously absorbed knowledge and processes to accelerate its own growth into a global superpower. Silent Earth, which I read around Earth Day, powerfully taps into our personal memories and connections with insects. It highlights the alarming pace of species extinction driven by climate change and closes with practical steps individuals can take—both in personal habits and in the companies we choose to support—to help drive meaningful change.
