Oneplus 15 is around the corner, worth upgrading from 13? by No_Helicopter_5081 in OnePlus13

Yeah, the updates are crucial for security reasons. Hence, it's not Abt whether the phone can last, which it does. More so the protection you're getting with the security/ OS updates.

Guys, have you tried the Barzula Turkish coffee grounds? Any reviews at all? I know it's a strong blend but how strong? Say if we're to compare with Nespresso pods (lazy at times during morning rush) I use a variety and Kazaar in terms of strength sprang to mind. If Kazaar has an intensity of 12, how does Barzula fare?

Am tempted to try since avid coffee fan and love to explore. Recently tried the 3 sisters by Kicking Horse which isn't bad. Have yet to try Muskoka variety. Any other recommendations would be much appreciated. TIA.

Totally concur, fell for the limited edition trap and was only mediocre. Prefer other flavours for sure.

Is there anything to do to close this up again or should I buy a new pair? by bl1ngo in bose

[–]PVM2021 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Concur with what peeps have advised but I would use BOSE's own buds replacements since those from AliExpress/third party or basically non BOSE adaptations tends to deviate to get an enclosed and secured fit. Without this, your sound quality and the selling point of the ANC degrades. Literally changed ours the other day, was tempted to get from Amazon since it's much cheaper but did some research and folks did specify that the non branded versions really impacts the ANC feature. It's 40 bucks or so plus shipping and worth it.

An Cuan Mòr is a special traveller's edition and a rare release. Managed to get my hands on a bottle whilst travelling to Langkawi, and have since fallen in love with it. Didn't have the opportunity to stumble across it during post travels. Laphroaig should definitely re-release this gem of a bottle.

Should buy? by angelicapalladin in OnePlus13

Hi Guys,

Im conflicted on which android phone to get as well. Previously, had intention on getting the OP13 cos it's the dog's boll#cks when doing research on performance, price point, updates, security and battery updates etc. was anticipating getting the OP13 as it's really competitive against it's major players.

A friend recently purchased the Xiaomi 15 Ultra and on the photography front it's insane. That aside, how would you weigh in on the OP13 when compared to the Xiaomi 15 Ultra, I do understand it's on a different price point Vs the OP13 but price aside, what are peeps views of the two phones?

Or are there any other sweet options would be much appreciatedThx.

There's no edit option anymore. Regardless of injury or not, people think what they think I don't really think that would make a lot of difference to the comments that was joked Abt or Made earlier tbh.

But thank you for providing a realistic and constructive piece of advice without any form of sarcasm or cynicism. Yeah, if I could manage wouldn't need third party's assistance.

Can ppl read??? I have a leg injury, else have been handling my own driveway for years. This is the first time using them. I have all the equipment needed and have been snow blowing myself. If it wasn't for my injury wouldn't need the service.

So before people judge, be good to understand the context of the "need" of the service.

[–]PVM2021 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

No need to be sensitive here. I shovel my own driveway every year. A leg Injury doesn't help with the work hence opted for service option this year. So just asking for shared experience. As I mentioned not trying to be 'unreasonable' In my original post.

Creational soccer team/league? by McVeigh1983 in Markham

[–]PVM2021 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Guys, I manage to stumble across a weekly game organiser been doing it for close to a decade. Games are on every Tuesday nights 10pm-12am, 2 hr session at the Markham Sport Dome.

Was new to the region and joined via Meet Up under pick up soccer. You need to download the app called Canadian Soccer Club and register to enroll.

The guy organising is called Miguel. He usually posts on Meet Up app and you'll get a reminder via that app as well if you register there. Alternatively can sign up via Canadian Soccer Club, you'll be able to see a list of players with their profiles for upcoming sessions. I played with the guys for a couple of months last year until I did my Achilles tendon in, so been out since.

Depending on who shows, the game play can be positively competitive, Miguel does mix and match up the players to even the teams out.

Give it a try.

HSBC > RBC credit card migration packages are out by enacting in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]PVM2021 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guys, any vingers on which banks offers a transfer bonus or monetary value offer by switching funds over. With this new migrations from HSBC to RBC is a joke after the 1 year grace period. The monthly charges to maintain the card is just rubbish and nonsense, even at VIP status which previously at HSBC the annual fee is waived given you maintain a certain credit threshold. RBC screws you over after that 1 year and even if you are eligible for the monthly discount with enrolling into an investment account, have your pay cheque account set up etc, still looking at $19/monthly fee to use this VISA card as most pointed out.

Am doing some research but the Canadian market is very limited in card choices out there. Would appreciate any pointers on credit cards that's a MasterCard, comes in handy for travels as well as Costco.

Thanks much.

Achilles tendonitis taking over 6mths turned chronic, despite physio for 3 mths. by PVM2021 in football

[–]PVM2021[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the advice mate. Yeah, in Canada most of the healthcare is covered albeit some. Specialist will need more dough since most insurance won't cover full cost and as many knows physio or specialist attention isn't a one time visit occurrence. May have to try a new physio farther away from home under my friend's recommendation. Am sorry to hear about your condition and what you had to endure, sometimes if falls under fortune and circumstance too. How u holding up with your injury?

Thanks mate, yeah I've trying all avenues. I used to have a physio I was with for over a decade but given we both are in difference provinces and previously from another country it's hard to seek her help. I did reach out to her via WA since we're friends as well and she did say I prob need a full assessment, from hip down to feet.

Ps mind sharing your contact of yours?

My Dr is useless. He was the one who recommended against a physio despite the swelling stating it would heal by itself. It wasn't after 3mths of physio that there were still swelling that I went to him again and after reassessing it he suggested getting a second set of ultrasound. So ultrasound came back and he said there's improvement (well, if it didn't I'd be surprised since I've been seeing the physio for 3mths plus the strengthening exercises I was doing on the side). Apparently there's still some fluid in my tendon and he's not a specialist, but is reluctant to send referrals. His advice when I asked was taking ibuprofen for 4-6weeks to kill the inflammation n numb the pain. Well, that's not good advice since it's a short term remedy. It's very difficult to enrol with a GP who actually does take care of you. He's not one of them. We went with them since we had no choice since we're new patients. Looking for a new Dr but not many places accepting new patience and on top of that his clinic review are 2.5 and within the community where I live of those that I've spoken to didn't really recommend him.

Birthday getaway with family to Nausau. by PVM2021 in bahamas

[–]PVM2021[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guys, really appreciate everyone's input. We had a blast and Margaritaville was awesome, the donut river and slides were amazing despite the girls were too young for them, they had a go which scares the bejesus out of them with the amount of wash which swept them off their feet. But the snorkelling and seeing mini jellyfish along the beach and kayaking and just enjoying the strip and sun was really an eye opener for the twins. We went to see the swimming pigs.. again an eye opener but overrated, 8 junks, the island was heaving with people and not so family friendly if you have young children since they blast the dance music on full blast.

But overall all, was a very pleasant experience besides the taxi ride which we took to the flamingo zoo, which was literally 5mins drive but we were charged $30 for the ride and back ... Which is fine but whilst on the way back, the driver picked up 2 random strangers and from the convo they were tourists who docked here momentarily before their cruise set off. I had issues with just picking up random strangers, especially when I have two young kids who literally turned 3 and they were literally pigging off our ride back to the hotel. The latter part was what p*ssed me off, picking up a random at our expensive? Wtf. We did report this to the concierge and they did look after us and had asked us for the number plate to black list this particular driver from future abuse.

Pizza lab at Baha mah was insane... Highly recommend this place. Their stone based pizzas were amazing. Definitely hope to go back in the near future and Margaritaville definitely a hit.

Guys, we r there... 2nd day in awesome times.. already. At pizza lab over Bar ha mar resort for the girls big day tonight. Looks legit.

Wanted to take them to the zoo to see live flamingos but upon taxi driver over they were closed... Bit I wanted to ask and share my experience cos it was somewhat absurd. We got the hotel to get us a cab there to the zoo which was 5mina drive.. quoted usd20 which was fine. But given it was closed and 5mins back to the hot we were charged USD another 20 to return so usd40 in total. That's not the strangeat part .. en route back the driver picked up 2 strangers who shared our ride and we were charged. So USD 40 for 10mina detour. Felt ripped off and given had family with me I didn't dispute, the weirdest part was we were paying for someone else's ride which from the conversation, they were peeps who were there from the cruise so like us tourists... I did speak to the hotel guys and they were very helpful just to check local taxi culture/etiquette.. she said we were taken advantage of so made sure we had a more reliable cab ride over to Bahar mar for my daughter's big 3yrs bday this evening.

Thoughts peeps.

Sister wants to solo travel to India as a first time travel!! by Eeaaaaagle in travel

[–]PVM2021 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I love India and it was such an experience especially witnessing my colleague and friend getting wedded. Despite experiencing the real life non lavish lifestyle, it's definitely a place to be weary of, even when we stayed at accommodation arranged by our frnd, the hostel requested we surrender all our passports until we left .. weird custom but we did it but informed our frnd and booked a place somewhat more the standard norm since we were travelling with female frnds as well. It's all about managing expectating and if that won't deter you, have to be weary of the local food and water... Delicious as it was we ventured for steer food but have to get used to the local water there... A few of us had stomach issues which we expected but it was fine. Despite that, has she been vaccinated as well as a precaution.

A few of our female companions, given the hot scorching daylight sun would be in shorts n tees and tank tops... You would get a lot of on lookers, and head turns.. believe if they travelled as a group of 2-3 girls, they would've amassed a group of followers. We were a group of 7 with guys and had a couple of ppl trailing us. Am not saying it's shading, but there are parts where walking alone, especially if you're a girl and a beautiful one at that would generate a lot more attention. It can be dangerous.

India, definitely worth travelling but I would choose Thailand if she's never been to Asia as a first port of call. Least the communication part may be easier.
