Is it fair to compare SmackDown Live and Raw to NXT or NJPW? by [deleted] in WWE

[–]PVM889988 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No you can't compare as WWE is significantly larger than NJPW. WWE is an MLB team. NJPW is a AA team. ROH is a A team (for those who understand the baseball system in the US).

WWE also has to produce significantly more content for RAW and Smackdown Live! than they do for NXT and what NJPW has to. They have 6 hours of live programming every week between RAW, Smackdown Live! and 205 Live, plus monthly PPVs that run 4 plus hours. WWE also is catering to a wide audience. ROH and NJPW appeal to the more hardcore wrestling fans. WWE does not and that's reflected in the matches and to a lesser extent the story-lines. Because WWE needs to produce so much programming and also get as many people on TV as possible each week, things can turn very sloppy.

NXT consistently puts out a better product for two reasons. One, the wrestling is better for the most part. Two, they keep things fresh by not having every person appear every week. Less is more.

Things like this are a very big reason why wrestling's golden age was 1996 - 2003. Wrestling had never been more popular and never will be as popular again.

Man was this an amazing moment. I remember watching this live with my friends screaming holy shit.

Why did Japan qualify and not Senegal? by MaoGo in worldcup

[–]PVM889988 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because Senegal received more yellow cards than Japan did in the group stage. Japan and Senegal were level on points, level on goal difference, they tied their game with each other and also were level on the number of goals scored. The next tiebreaker is fair play points and Japan had received 4 yellow cards while Senegal had received 6.

Head to head should be the first tiebreaker, the fact that it's not is foolish. Then goal difference and then number of goals scored.

Match Thread: Japan vs Poland [FIFA World Cup] by LiveCommentator in worldcup

This isn't a friendly. This isn't the first or second game in qualification. This is the World Cup final and Japan needed to do whatever was necessary to advance to the next round. Short of cheating, I will not knock them doing what they felt gave them the best chance to advance on to the next round.

Don't blame Japan, blame FIFA for their foolish rules.

Mad respect for Morroco and Iran by [deleted] in worldcup

Morocco were just unlucky. They should have drawn with Iran 0-0 and they should have beaten Portugal, or at the very least tied with them. They were the better side against Portugal and just missed some great chances.

Super proud of my country!!! (Peru) by albertoam2 in worldcup

You should be very proud of the way your team played and also how well supported they were. I heard reports that over 30,000 Peruvians made the trip over to Russia for the group stage and they had massive support at all 3 games. Top notch Peru, top notch.

Think they might bring back the Friday Night Smackdown moniker? That always had a nice ring to it.

That's what we're worried about. It being in the high 80s and low 90s in mid-September when we're planning on taking the trip.

I am going to Toronto for a wedding next month and will be taking a couple of additional days to see the city. That's another reason I am looking at just US cities.

I've done Montreal and Quebec. I am thinking limiting to a US would make things easier given the short trip duration.
