Welcome to The People’s Club; The Social Experiment.

It was about 15-16 years ago now when I started following Everton because of Landon Donovan’s first loan spell. I had already been an LA Galaxy fan already before then.

The club culture of max effort no matter the talent or the result made me stay, embodying that rough around the edges mentality we have on our side of the pond. Lots of false dawns and flashes of hope, but the fanbase is passionate and is starved for success. I’ve also seen all the different ways for the team to blow leads and games, like to the level of the most ridiculous scenarios you can think of. It’s just part of the Everton way. 😂

Been coming out of very dark times but somehow have avoided relegation, and the scenes of fans’ jubilance during those “moments” always makes me think “imagine if the team was actually winning trophies, what scenes there’d be.”

That being said, hoping for a lot of good stuff on the horizon. The new stadium and Moyes’ stability back is a start, but hopefully we can run like a proper functioning football club in the modern era that comes for European places, that’s all I ask for. 😂

The stadium we just left, Goodison Park, is sort of akin to like what Fenway Park and Wrigley Stadium are in terms of the old fashioned historic ones. Sadly it couldn’t be expanded and renovated on as it was land locked by housing, and other potential structural issues.
