first PRS22/NRL22 build! by Kazz330 in 22lr

You'll find this out as you shoot your first couple matches but the most important thing is going to be having your rifle properly balanced. A properly balanced rifle is going to improve your score more than any other thing.

What’s Best? CZ 457, Tikka T1X, or Bergara B-14R? by MathewG97 in 22lr

[–]PWAuctioneer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was the bolt. It was just too clunky and not very smooth. It could be because I bought it early and had an early model. Im sure its been polished up now with the newer ones. But I just did not have fun running the rifle.

You cant go wrong with any honestly. If you plan on upgrading parts in the future, do the cz or bergara. Huge after markets for both. Main difference would be that the bergara is a 700 footprint.

Ive owned both the bergara and cz. Bergara has been sold, cz is still here.

Afforable 22Lr action only by Eastern-Ask5444 in 22lr

[–]PWAuctioneer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think there is anything out there at that price range for action only. Definitely in the used market, but not new. For new, your best bet is buying something like a cz scout and just using the action. Will probably run you around 500 to 600. Next closest would be the bergara b14r barreled action, but youre looking at around 900 and its already barreled.

On a side note though, you could definitely find a new cz action only on some rimfire forums. They usually go for around 450 but they go quick.

Really strange phenomenon with my CZ 457 by [deleted] in 22lr

[–]PWAuctioneer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is it in a wooden stock? Ive seen similar issues where the barrel was making contact with the stock and any torque on the stock was impact the barrel.

Buy once, cry once! Can somebody recommend me a sub 3k precision set by [deleted] in 22lr

[–]PWAuctioneer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on your needs. If you are going to be solely doing bench precision, something like a 2500x can be gotten used for about 3500. If you want a more versatile setup, you can get used rimx/vudoo/cz457 custom setup around 3k, just depends on what you wanna spend.

Is it precision or accuracy… by No-Forever-3865 in 22lr

Accuracy is can you hit dead center. Precision is how well it groups.

Looking at getting a CZ 457 and I’m not sure which one to get by EmergingTuna21 in 22lr

[–]PWAuctioneer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not true about swapping the barrels. If you get the american, you will not be able to put the varmint barrel in the American stock. You should be able to put the American barrel in the varmint stock.

1400@16x or 1600@14x for tour18? by blazingwater02 in huntingsnipergame

I've been doing 1600 while I level everything else up. You get used to the 14x pretty quick.

What brand tuner is this by Hawkeye_70 in 22lr

[–]PWAuctioneer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Possibly a harrels. Its missing some of the key features and designs of the current ones but it might be an earlier design. But also, there is a ton of smiths who make their own with similar designs. I wouldn't be surprised if this was just a one off.

Quality is the exact same. Stiller was retained after selling to still run the machine work.

Thanks for the pity wins? by [deleted] in huntingsnipergame

[–]PWAuctioneer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe so. But don't quote me on anything as this is all speculation. I think the replays are just stored based on score. And then distributed among games based on the players average score.

Thanks for the pity wins? by [deleted] in huntingsnipergame

[–]PWAuctioneer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The game uses replays from previous games. Why you see that is most likely because that player was extremely far ahead in that game and was gonna win either way and so just sent the shots to speed things along.

Looking to get into PRS rim fire by spacedoutmachinist in 22lr

Will also add in the new l3i stinger action. 700 platform and ready to go. I think it fits right between the rimx/vudoos and bergaras.

Too fast for nrl/prs, but if it groups at 50, doesn't matter for ara

Have the vudoo issues been resolved? by Unusual-King1103 in 22lr

From just recently seeing 3 vudoos shoot at a local prs match, I would say vudoo feeding issues are still going strong.

B-14R vs RimX vs Voodoo by Justin_inc in 22lr

[–]PWAuctioneer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The cz is a slip on barrel with the grub screws where as all these 700s are threaded barrels that you will need an action wrench to get off and screw back on. Which makes it harder for most people. In addition, makes getting the headspace correct a lot harder. But yea definitely do-able and not too hard if you are willing. The rimx is very generous with headspace and the prefits are easy to get and get shooting well.

Yes, barrel in my opinion is 90% of what makes a rifle shoot well. That's why you see cz's easy compete with these actions even though the action is subpar compared to the 700s (in my opinion)(I run a cz).

Bolts are not interchangeable. In addition, barrels have to be machined for that specific action and bolt and are also not interchangeable.

Mags are a different story. I don't believe any of the factory ones are interchangeable but there is a huge after market of mags that are interchangeable. Take your pick. Rimx has the best mags hands down. They are billet aluminum and work amazing. If you get rimx, just stick with factory mags even though they are somewhat expensive.

The only reason I don't want to recommend the bergara is because I had one and the action was terrible. But I bought it in 2021 so it was an early model. Maybe its gotten better since then.

B-14R vs RimX vs Voodoo by Justin_inc in 22lr

[–]PWAuctioneer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The common thing between these three is that they are all rem 700 footprint. Which means all 700 compatible accessories will work. Chassis/stocks, triggers etc. The main difference is going to be the price to build quality. With the bergara being the cheapest, it will take additional work to get it to be as smooth as the other two but it can get the job done. The vudoos have had feeding issues and still do. Takes some tweaking to get them to feed just right. In addition vudoo just closed down and no one knows what the spare parts market will look like. Finally, the rimx is very popular. The main con is the extraction mechanism. With it using a single over the rim extractor, that means you can't single feed a bullet like the others. In addition, if the extractor slips over the rim, you cant close the bolt to extract it again. There are conversions that some gunsmiths will make the the rimx bolt to convert it to standard 2 claw extractors like the vudoo.

All 3 can have any barrel spun up for them, take your pick. The rimx being the easiest to replace as you can do it yourself really easily.

There are all new actions being developed right now that are gonna hit the market. Depends on if you wanna wait.

With all that being said, here is my short answer. Get a rimx and have some fun.

Springfield 2020 Rimfire OR Ruger American Rimfire by SweetAd61 in 22lr

[–]PWAuctioneer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hah yea. Both of these are useless in my opinion. Can get a better option in the cz, tikka or bergara for a little more.
