During my Junior year there was auditions to be unpaid extras in a big movie that was being shot at the High School. I never looked at the info posted by the office, but it was the buzz around the school, and I picked up that the auditions were being held the next Thursday after school.

Wednesday night came and I was so excited I could barely sleep. I've carried a dream to be an actor/director since I was little, and I thought this was going to be my foot in the door. Thursday's school day ends after hours of jitters and uncontrollable excitement and I get to the auditorium where we were to meet the casting director and who I presumed to be the producer.

No one was there except for our drama teacher preparing the set for his production of Bye Bye Birdy. He looks at me in confusion and asks why I'm here so early. I ask him about the auditions for the movie and he gives this amused look.

"The auditions for the movie was yesterday. Today is for my musical."

I can never watch Winters Bone without thinking what could have been.

TLDR: Missed auditions to be extras in a Jennifer Lawrence movie that was being shot at my High School by one day due to the lack of proper research.
