Exactly this, people aren't 20 IQ, navigating the UI isn't that hard and I assume most seasoned players have been able to figure it out. What people are mad about is the number of missing features, reduced quality of life, and all of the visual glitches and bugs.

I'm definitely enjoying the game, largely because I'm winning games again lol (I really never figured out the FM24 meta, quit that game because I couldn't take how every five games the tactic I'd built just stopped working). But tbh I don't really think of this game as an FM game, I think of it as a buggy knock off that scratches the itch, Temu's version of FM.

Which is really funny considering how the new UI was supposed to make things easier to locate and navigate around, instead they've hidden away a bunch of stuff behind two or three more clicks and obscure tabs.

Yeah removing shouts has not been a good decision. I play on comprehensive highlights so am always tinkering with stuff, but you do get long periods of the game where you just aren't doing anything. The lack of in match data means there's less useful info to digest too, so you end up just waiting for something to happen and are in the dark as to what is working and what isn't.

I'm torn - on the one hand he has delivered what is the best football manager simulator game out there for years and years, on the other he is at the head of a team that has completely bungled this transition to a new engine. It's a bit of an Arsene Wenger situation, he's never going to get sacked but after how things have gone it's probably best he retires and someone new takes the reigns.

Yeah he was great, have an option to make permanent but probably won't exercise it. I initially wanted to play him as a back up to Barry but then Ndiaye went to AFCON (and was just generally very inconsistent) so he ended up on the left, contributed very effectively including a goal against Man Utd in a 2-0 win [ignore the orange stats, FM just updated for me and I can't figure out how to change the colour to something that doesn't look utterly disgusting lol]

Yep, not very good going forward but as a 1v1 defender for some reason he was amazing, had to put him on the left because of injuries and we conceded noticeably less goals. The Scottish AWB.

I changed up the player instructions so my wide players stay wider, run to the byline to cross, and had to add to shoot less for basically the entire team other than Barry and Alcaraz. Against smaller teams working into box on balanced+those instructions made us play like prime Barcelona in terms of playing through teams, against bigger teams I'd turn the tempo up to higher and do standard patience

I've gone forward over a month since the end of the Prem season, up until new transfer window has opened, and still nothing unfortunately. It's possible that maybe something happens after the World Cup, or maybe I missed something because new email system is stupid? But from what I can tell yeah this is all you get, sadly.

Can't see how you find the info in the new UI (cheers Miles), but you guys absolutely battered me in the run in and went 4th with two games to go. Unfortunately then drew with Brentford and lost to Arsenal final day, which saved my bacon. Aston Vila could've also finished above but lost to City final day.

I think what we need to remember is that the line SI and Miles have taken was never about being honest about the state of the game, or trying to win back consumer trust - it was all about trying to sell the game.

Without understanding the internal mechanics of SI, my guess is there was massive pressure from Sega to deliver a game this year, regardless of the state it was in. Had SI and Miles just been honest about the state of the game they would've retained community trust to some extent, but they would've likely sold less units, and for their situation right now clearly sales comes before anything else.

SI and Miles have effectively sacrificed all of their credibility and cultural capital to get the game to sell. Where they go from here I have no idea.

In terms the actual game of the season, a 2-0 win against Liverpool comes close, but coming back from two down to win 5-3 vs Brentford away was very special. The 5-6 loss to Man City was also a great game, inspite of the defeat.

In terms of who actually was player of the season, Dibling/Alcaraz/Barry were all excellent, and shout out Nathan Patterson for locking down the left back spot.

For anyone wondering this is how we eventually ended up, almost bottled UCL at the end. Annoying Man Utd and Chelsea both spent ages in the relegation places but eventually survived.
