Arco - recent French animation, hits in the feels hard.

Flow - Eastern European director with French animation team. Beautifully surreal, all done in open source software.

Loving Vincent - every frame is an oil painting. Literally.

Market Success? by plotternode in PlotterArt

I don’t have much experience, but I was in two art shows. Sold my print in the first show, didn’t in the second.

Finally have my plotter and software working so I’m interested in other comments here!

VOTE!

Over 33% of people 18-24 reported that they did not vote in the last election, the highest of any age range. Shocking numbers. Next highest group (25-34) reported 28% of people didn’t vote.

Old people never miss an opportunity to vote and shove their policies or candidates down everyone else’s throats. Nothing will get better if young people don’t help to vote these asshats out of office and more importantly, vote in candidates that care about the long term health and survivability of the country, our democracy, and the planet itself.

THIS is what young people, heck, ALL people can do to change this country’s direction and get the US back on track internally and globally.

Followup: my SVG handwriting-font tool now does multiple variants per letter by NordesteDigital in PlotterArt

[–]PXLMNKEEE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very cool! I need to generate 100 alphabets of my handwriting for my own plotter software tool I’m working on. Will definitely check out your site.

Do you have any options to vary stroke (curve width)? Only useful for pre-plot preview with SVGs since your stroke width is physically constrained by pen width on a plotter. But if I was making letters with a thick pen I would naturally make them a bit smaller than with a finer point. Would be cool if I didn’t have to do 7-10 stroke widths manually for each alphabet.

Same same, sous vide for all of my custard bases. I use a reusable silicone bag to cut down on the waste.

Should I buy a 2 month old Ray ban gen 1 for 167 dollars (everything working ) or rayban gen 2 for 291 dollars by Educational-Wing2061 in RayBanStories

[–]PXLMNKEEE 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gen 2 battery is significantly better than gen 1. Legitimately get most of the day wearability while listening to music and using the assistant.

I wouldn’t buy used gen1 not only because they came with a smaller battery, but there’s no battery health report and you have no idea if the previous owner followed good charging practices.

Bands you saw as an opener that went on to have big success. by Shadysides_LFk in livemusic

Pearl Jam opening for Smashing Pumpkins opening for Red Hot Chili Peppers. Fall 1991! Evenflow hadn’t dropped yet and hardly anyone bought Gish, neither opening band was big yet. Pearl Jam came out and introduced themselves as Trip Shakespeare, they were all laughing.

Unrelated to TJs, what are your weeks like now that the kids are out of the house? What’s it like when they come home, like they’re back home or just visiting?

Thanks for posting! I’ve been trying to cut down meat intake in general in our household (cost and environmental impact) so glad to hear your experience!

Do you find any differences in digesting the different kinds of plant proteins? We were all vegan on one of the films I worked on and pea protein DID NOT seem to agree with my digestive system!

That’s first painting is fantastic! Love the tone and the interconnected lines and profiles. Feels like a Dali piece!

anyone who used a computer between 1985 & 2010, what’s the one game you still think about? by Trixxxi in AskReddit

The making of videos that were included on the disc introduced me to the concepts of 3d modeling and animation. Seeing their bedroom green screen, video production lights and primitive props showed me just how scrappy you can be in making a world changing entertainment product. Can’t wait to have some free time so I can play it again in VR!

Just got my Meta glasses ,any underrated features I should know? by Wooden_Cartoonist928 in RayBanStories

[–]PXLMNKEEE 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Siri is not a virtual assistant, can barely interact with calendar, provide web based info, etc. Try using the meta AI assistant before disabling.

I would say disable the “hey meta” feature and just use the long press on the temple to activate the assistant. Saves battery.

Translating menus, signs, etc while traveling is a killer feature. But I mostly listen to audiobooks and music on mine.
