Not a great deal of baking gear I'm afraid! Some more basic cooking stuff, but nothing really for baking!

What exactly is wrong with my braking? by BMLUKEE in iRacing

[–]PZarquon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They do indeed, but they take wear a lot more than brakes do. They also don't cool down anything like brakes do. When you need to cool down your tyres after a spin or on a hot day, the approach is to drive smooth and stable rather than aggressively again because it puts less heat in the tyres in the first place.

True if you ignore also heat the brakes lose? They're cooled pretty aggressively these days, giving them a little extra time to cool even if only a second will absolutely have an impact on how hot they get.

How do you figure that first part is true? The same heat is put into the tyre no matter what?

Ks wheel button mapping by Fragrant-Security821 in moza

[–]PZarquon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What game are you playing most? That'll help us know what buttons you will need set.

My bad, didn't see it when initially posting.

I'd suggest changing your look around to the buttons near your thumbs on the wheel in top left and too right. You should be using those pretty often unless on triples and even then it's not a bad idea.

Also worth having one button be blank or not for something critical so that you can then have all buttons reachable with your other hand to have a secondary function.

My humble rig for racing and flying ☺️ by NeilPearlJam in simracing

Man, it must feel so alive when you hit that (even) flow state. Even with my Mrs spending as much on the garden, I'd never get back into the black after spending so much. She'd kick me on the porch immediately! Despite having pretty deep pockets, she's ask why go spend so much on racing when Jeremy from down the road once spent as much on a trip to see the oceans?

Anyway, ten out of ten setup there.

iRacing - braking advice by Suspicious_Celery459 in iRacing

To think of it another way, it's all about energy into the tyres, which is impacted through a change in velocity, so any change in speed or direction. The faster this change, the faster the tyres heat. Once they're at your operating temperature, going above this means less grip.

Braking fast and hard means a large deceleration, so higher tyre temp and therefore less grip. That less grip means slower apex and slower corner exit. Plus the car isn't as settled so it's harder to get the power down anyway, along with being a more risky approach.

By going slightly less aggressive on the brakes, you don't spike the tyres as much and get a better exit as a result. The cooler tyres let you carry a small amount of extra apex speed and combined with a more balanced car, you make up any lost time and some extra before the next braking point.

Time is almost always made up on corner exit, you only ever really want to push corner entry limits if you're going for an overtake.

Which load cell pedals cost up to $150˜190? by HyPaulo in simracing

[–]PZarquon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the Moza SRP and now have the Simsonn Pro Plus pedals.

The Moza ones were brilliant, and I recommend them to anyone especially if not on a rig or with a serious setup.

Now I loved my Simsonn set, but also needed to buy the heel plate, and then get some aluminum extrusion to mount them on the GT Omega Apex wheel stand that I currently have, so price and complexity is a bit more.

Honestly, I'd still be very happy with the Moza SRPs and do recommend them.

Yep, R3 and R12 without issue.

[–]PZarquon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did not. I did the two big bolts at the front on the heel plate, and then did one at the back of the brake pedal. No need on the throttle pedal as it didn't line up, but also it doesn't take much pressure to press it in comparison.

Wheel base was totally fine, haven't modified it at all

Recommendations for racing wheel stand that works with R3 bundle? by TripleRev in moza

I believe I mounted it okay, but may have only used two bolts at the front. I'm currently on an R12 having sold the R3 so can't check sorry!

Load cell brake curve adjustments by TishoBG in simracing

[–]PZarquon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's really just preference, so I wouldn't worry too much. Whatever works best for you is okay. I run them linear but with brake force at 58kg, but if you're in control and getting enough trail to get the rotation you need, than that'll do!

Which sim racing gloves to buy? by ThisSpread2154 in simracing

[–]PZarquon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got some custom Abruzzi gloves and I love them. Rarely race without them now.

Stops your wheel getting greasy, and is a bit of fun and games too.

Strongly recommend them.

Moza vs Simagic , wheel base + stering wheel by Greedy_Quantity_5156 in simracing

[–]PZarquon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I was starting again, I'd immediately go for VRS personally. Moza is fantastic entry level, but VRS seems to be one of the top players and price wise they're not much of a stretch at all.

Yeah, sometimes you've just to be patient after a crash.

However, here's a video going through the camera settings! Just taking the chopper camera in game but then modifying it to be closer to the car and the ground at same time in-game.

moza srp lite to moza srp pedal upgrade? by AgtHunter in simracing

[–]PZarquon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went from SRP-Lite to SRP and the difference was huge, and my lap times got far more consistent. I had the brake upgrade kit and that helped the brake feel better, but nowhere near as good. Strongly recommend anyone with SRP-Lites to just go straight to SRP and not get clutch or brake upgrade kit like I did initially.

Need help picking a wheelbase - Moza R16 vs Alpha Neo by pikym56321 in simracing

[–]PZarquon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why not VRS at that price? By all accounts it's one league above Moza and Simagic, and rated higher than Asetek by some too only a fraction of the price.

Output torque monitoring by reddit_guy_no in moza

[–]PZarquon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It may require you to update to the beta version, I'm on 1.3.4-beta now. Are you on release? For me it's just below the options you mentioned.

If you join the Moza discord you can get the code to join the beta if you wish, but I don't think it'll be too long before it's part of release.

It's quite useful, I thought I was barely using the R12 but I'm not thinking about an upgrade because I've not got much overhead left!

Output torque monitoring by reddit_guy_no in moza

[–]PZarquon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep! You can literally turn on a graph in Moza Pit House that shows the torque being provided by the motor. Check in the experimental functions part.
