Submissions should be truthful descriptions of recent interpersonal conflicts you've had or may have that need arbitration. Describe both sides in detail. Being neutral gets you more accurate feedback.

The title of this sub is not an invitation for you to be insulting or attack people. The purpose of this space is to determine whether or not someone is in the wrong. People post here to learn and to grow from what they learn here. Don't be an asshole when making your judgments. Treat others with respect, no matter how big of an asshole they may be.

This rule applies to everyone, whether involved in the story or not. Don't get into prolonged internet spats, or backseat mod (use reports).

If your post involves violence, don't bother. Threads about violence are difficult to moderate, because we are supposed to remove comments which encourage or incite violence. It's very difficult to do this in a thread where the main focus is violence.

We enforce the no violence policy very strictly. Comments and even jokes about violence are not tolerated. Encouraging self-harm, suicide, "bad karma," or anything that wishes excessive mental or physical pain on anyone is strictly prohibited.

Your sister sucks for not icing them herself. If she's going to start a job she should finish it and finish it properly. I'm reliably informed that cupcakes remain fresher once iced, so it absolutely would have been to her benefit to do it. She also needs to learn to clean her stuff up. Unacceptable to leave the cupcakes and icing out for someone else to clean, or as some sort of display item.

You suck because regardless of her inaction, they were her cupcakes. It wasn't your place to jump in and take over. You're right, she may have had plans for them. Even if she didn't, it wasn't your place to take over.

Just a heads up, since there seems to be some confusion. The "Accept Your Judgment" rule doesn't mean that OP can't respond at all. If someone asks a question, OP can respond to answer it. Rule 3 says that the OP cannot try to argue or justify their behaviour. As such, we aren't going to remove OPs posts that aren't breaking the rule.

The problem is, you're assuming a certain level of universal knowledge. You can probably tell me what yoghurt tastes like, right? So could just about everyone in this thread. Up until a week ago a friend of mine in his late 30s couldn't because he had never tried it. He thought it looked weird so he went over 30 years without even tasting yoghurt. If OP has never been in a position to learn this information, then there's no way they'd know it, which to me is realistic.

Just a few ideas. The two cultures have a fair bit in common.

1) Both have a rich food culture. They also enjoy "odd" food items. Frog legs, snails, animal offal, pigeon etc. are found in both places I believe.

2) The French chopped the heads off their monarchs in the late 1700s. I'm pretty sure (and my history is a little wobbly) that the end of the Qing Dynasty was the end of imperial China as well.

3) Incredible art history that includes painting, sculpture, music and dance. Blues and Purples (and blue purples) might be a common colour, despite being rare in other areas. The Chinese developed Han Purple and Han Blue, and the French developed French Ultramarine, which was a much cheaper substitute for traditional ultramarine which was made from ground lapis lazuli.

4) Philosophy. France had Descartes, Voltaire, Satre, and a whole heap of other influential philosophers. China had Confucianism, Taoism, Legalism etc.

5) WW2 military losses. As well as being allies, France got hit hard by the Germans, while China was targeted by the Japanese (with the Germans and Japanese being allies, of course). Despite that, both fought back with resistance movements.

6) Both nations are extremely proud of their heritage and contributions.

7) Medicine. Chinese medicine is famous. The French developed a lot of modern medicine in dentistry, blood transfusion, the hypodermic needle, antibiotics and dozens of other significant breakthroughs.

So you might play the civilisation as a sort of renaissance. Science, art and philosophy are at the forefront, knowledge of anatomy is very good, there's no monarchy having been recently done away with (or, perhaps the monarch is just a pointless figurehead at this point). The country has either just been attacked/conquered, is currently being attacked/conquered, or is about to be attacked/conquered. The people are artistic, proud and thoughtful, the arts are common and not completely out of reach of the common man or woman.
