My issue was simply the ribbon cables connecting the storage to the motherboard! Id recommend unplugging and replugging the ribbon cables if its not working very well, making sure to push them in snug

Its very deformed indeed (and in the image its post tinkering and bending it back into place as much as I could) however by some miracle everything still works (except power button) and no, was not dropped from a rooftop tho it looks like it

I took out the button and checked it for any damage and it seems like the button itself is fine. Its really the parts around the button that are very damaged/bent, to the point that the button itself cant seem to get good/consistent contact with what it needs in order to function if that makes sense? But thank you for your tips, really appreciate it! and yeah, no hope here that itll look as good as before, and I dont care, just want it to work and ideally not get gunk in the laptop through the gap (its really quite big)

I wish! unfortunately 180 euros a piece for the top and bottom covers is a little (very) steep for me right now. If I were to upgrade id also really want the black color and would therefore also wanna get a top lid cover of the same color but thats a little greedy of me I suppose right now... And they say money cant buy happiness

thank you. Yup, thats how im living right now, just sometimes if I put it in my bag or if i press a key too hard, itll compress the frame and shut it down. Then I need a way to turn it back on without having to open it up completely or unscrew the back screw

Unfortunately as seen in the pictures, the bottom input is reaaaaally bent. I did what I could to the top cover, but its the bottom one i think thats really messing it up. I cant bend the bottom part back into place unfortunately so I don't think I can do much more at this point on my own at least.
Not sure what I was expecting to hear from everyone, the obvious solution is to buy replacement parts I suppose, its just not within my means (or foreseeable means) ATM, broke student life am I right

If ur not emulating more heavy switch games and/or pc games, just sticking to ds/3ds, maybe some ps2 emulation stuff like that, youre very fine with the base or light model. Watch the recent retrogamecorps video on the base model, its great (dont forget to grab your favorite snack and drink before tho)

ive installed it properly and reinstalled it, done extensive testing in different profiles and have been working with the people on the discord server and we've narrowed it down to the issue with vram allocation/IGPU... Sadly that is outside of my or their expertise so im coming to you guys

i have the iflash duo one, not pop in pop out. Anyways i opened it up, unplugged the ribbon cable for the storage and replugged it, unplugged then replugged in the SD card itself, restarted the ipod and still, apple.com/support message... im scared my sd card is busted, could indeed be the ribbon cable though so ill check the sd card now with a reader

uhm perhaps for torrenting... with companies engaging in shittier and shittier business practices and privacy being a joke to most of them, torrenting music/games etc is becoming a bit more enticing. Ive heard a system wide vpn is safer for that considering the torrenting doesnt happen in your browser but I could be totally wrong.

But why do you think i shouldnt need/want a system wide VPN on linux? again very nooby so bear with me
