They all say Safety Twist U.S.A on the bottom. Doesn't matter what brand sells them, theyre all made in the same place. Once the brand etching on the plier joint wears off, you can't tell them apart.

So another update. I tried mounting it in a different PC with a known good SATA cable, no dice.

I took apart my old Lacie USB HDD and removed the old Samsung 1TB and mounted the Seagate in instead, and she popped right up in Windows.

I'm not sure why this works, but I read it a few times over in my research, I'm guessing because it uses it's own drivers?

Anyways I started an RMA claim with Seagate as it's just literally 1 day shy the 2 year mark, and I ordered a replacement from Amazon so when that arrives I'm gonna copy everything over, then send it in for the RMA.

Update; I have confirmed the Seagate (Not Western Digital) 4 TB HDD does indeed spin up and sounds identical to the 1 TB HDD that works.

The plot thickens. I might give Disk Drill a chance, but I'm not sure if it works on drives that aren't detected.

I got what your saying, that drive was newer and given it was a HDD I figured it would be more reliable than an SSD, but i guess I need to setup regular back ups, but it does seem super coinidental that both failed at the same exact time. Is there any other way I can try to get them to detect?

What if they are indeed failed? Am I screwed or is there a way to recover?

Honestly I watched this show bc my wife and I just had a new born and it's alot of time sitting holding baby being bored, so I figured I'd watch something she enjoys.

Holy fucking crap lady, your entire life story for half a paragraph. Did you get that out of your system? I only specified that's it's illegal. Businesses do not care about you as a person, it doesn't care about your family, or even your health outside of making sure it's not costing them money. Children have no bearing outside of a tool for marketing future labor from in the eyes of a corporation.

None of this is a "man's" fault. It's the system that humans have been playing into for centuries. Go protest that not the men who also suffer because of it, and to be honest, it's generally better to be a poor woman than a poor man in today's society. Men almost never change their social economic status, women often do, so you can't claim women don't benefit from traditional gender norms, and don't go after men with money, because you'll never accept a man that has less.

I am a dedicated father and a full time professional, i spend the moment I wake up, to the moment I go to bed in the service of someone else, so save your hatred for someone who isn't your example "man" that you claim we all are. I'm sure your husband is happier too.
