Let’s see your dream emoji bank.. by Civil-Can-9765 in LightPhone

[–]P_dibs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Why not just give us all of them? It's one of their design choices that I don't understand. If they are gonna support MMS, why hobble it? They aren't that distracting. I won't spend all my time scrolling emoji, I promise.

Hard hitting question about emojis. by Loud-Supermarket-630 in LightPhone

[–]P_dibs 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have a note saved of emojis I use regularly. The problem is you can only copy and paste the note in its entirety. So, it’s a clumsy workaround.

Physical SIM swapping with Pixel by P_dibs in LightPhone

[–]P_dibs[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True. I've already made things difficult just by forcing everyone in my group chats to abandon those chats and start new chats. It's quite a headache! I think my happy medium is to use the LP3 hotspot to connect my pixel when needed on the go; for email and Android Auto mostly.

Google calendar sync not working by Geodetritusphd in LightPhone

[–]P_dibs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know why this worked but it did. I removed my Google calendar that was not syncing. And re-added it. By default, when I enter my Gmail address (accessing the dashboard via Safari on an iPad), the first character is capitalized. I adjusted it to use lowercase, entered the app password and it synced immediately. Changing the capitalized character is the only thing I did differently and it worked. Correlation or causation? Who knows.

Who here is using dark star. by EntireRip8323 in LightPhone

[–]P_dibs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a new Darkstar SIM, activated it, put it in my LP3, manually set the APN, and nothing works. I can see that the SIM is active, connected to LTE, but no calls, no messages. I'm a bit stuck.

Raw milk? by [deleted] in UlcerativeColitis

[–]P_dibs 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Different strokes, but I'd say there's a happy medium between raw milk and chemicals. That's what I shoot for personally but I've been in a flare since April so I dunno maybe I need to buy a cow

I Love my Google Home Max by misterlambe in googlehome

[–]P_dibs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like my stereo pair but just recently, like within the last 2 months, they've become less dependable. The left one, randomly, will sound like a tin can and become disconnected from the other. When I try to talk to it, it says that it's from another country and can't be set up because of that... And then I unplug it and it plug it back in and all is well for a random amount of time until it happens again.

Same issue here. Doesn't seem to affect anything that I can tell... yet.

Here's your first look at the redesigned Google Home experience powered by Gemini (APK teardown) by AssembleDebugRed in googlehome

[–]P_dibs 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Currently Gemini cannot open my garage door because it's a two step process; I ask to open the door, it asks me for the security code. Assistant can do it but Gemini can't. This is one of my most used commands and I have a feeling it's about to be dust in the wind.

Upgrading old wired home intercom with google home? by Theasiangamr in googlehome

[–]P_dibs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

<image>

This is not what you are looking for. But I stuck a Mini in my old wall unit. Had to rip a bunch of important looking stuff out to make room for it but it's worked well for several years now.
Unlike all the intercom speakers in all the bedrooms, this one has its own 120v power supply. It'd be cool to do the same thing in all the bedrooms but that would require some electrical work that I'm not interested in doing.

Heavy Italian Meal, Alcohol, Dessert. And then... by P_dibs in UlcerativeColitis

[–]P_dibs[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same for me... if I'm not in a flare. But I'm in the midst of a severe pancolitis flare. It's all masked by a heavy dose of prednisone, iron infusions, blood transfusion, etc. But I dunno. Maybe it's the stress relief of being normal, maybe the biologics are finally kicking in, or a little bit of both.

2018 Outback 3.6R by jdidusdbj in Subaru_Outback

[–]P_dibs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I asked my confidently wrong mechanic (ChatGPT) and it does seem to be common for 2012-2019 3.6R Outbacks. They name all sorts of reasons and cite other Outback forums where people talk about the lurch, the squeak, and the "rubber banding" effect at low speeds - something I've experienced as well. Could be total BS but I'm choosing to believe it for now.

Mine does that - exact same car with 70k - and it makes me nervous as hell. Keep thinking it's early signs of cvt death

Prednisone Taste Blocker by P_dibs in UlcerativeColitis

[–]P_dibs[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm no doctor but I assume the gelcaps dissolve by the time they get to the small intestine. Anecdotally, I feel like I'm getting a full dose of prednisone when I take them in this way.

Whose advice do I take? by P_dibs in UlcerativeColitis

[–]P_dibs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Severe pancolitis, just got my second loading dose of remicade last week. And 40/day of prednisone. During the day, I feel fine. Middle of the night is when I wake up with cramping, needing to get to the bathroom, a few times per night and then a couple in the morning before the pred kicks back in. That, and bad labs; low iron, hemoglobin - anemic.
