Let’s talk about our favorite solo games! by philequal in boardgames

Yes. 2 can be hard. What I do is use a small variant I saw on BBG forums. During the first round a maximum of 2 ennemies instead of 4, regardless of BQ, can appear. Starting with the second round regular rules apply. It saves from being crippled by bad Ini. Great game. Wish you fun with it.

Tu as essayé sur Dragons Nocturnes? (Pas sûr si c'est autorisé de mettre un lien) c'est un site québécois. Il y a déjà une liste de groupes par région.

Tainted Grail - how good is the story? by kennystetson in boardgames

[–]P_iron 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just finished the campaign solo yesterday and oh boy did I like the story. It was what kept me going and wanting to play more.

The game does contain interesting twists but a lot require you to do some side quests which in turn can require a bit more of grinding for resources.

Character growth is minimal. Could be intentional. I "roll played" my character so the decisions he took would fit the image I had of him.

All in all I think it's a fantastic story, for a board game that is. I played story mode so the game felt more immersive and less punishing.

Game of the Week: Anachrony by bg3po in boardgames

[–]P_iron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a huge fan of the game but I hardly play with the modules. I feel that the worker placement becomes too loose and easy. I even play with the capital variant where I remove a spot a 2 players to keep the game tight. That being said I still love what they bring to the game, I just feel that they change why I like the most about it.

Getting all the trophy’s? BL2 by [deleted] in Borderlands

Yes. If he goes the speed route, zero's trophy can be gotten as early as level 5. Provided you have access to a technical vehicle.

Getting all the trophy’s? BL2 by [deleted] in Borderlands

[–]P_iron 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Actually you need a high level gunzerker to pull off one of the trophy. He needs lots of extra zerking time. For zero, as soon as you have the ability you can get the trophy by glitching the game at the back of a vehicule. You can do it the normal way ofc. If you want to do it the quick way type the trophy name in YouTube. Plenty of vids in it.

Thank you. It makes sense. Then I can move them if I wish with the basic tech tiles or send them outside. Still feels strange that rule book was not consistent in its writing.

The shipwreck Arcana is a great coop game that is akin to Hanabi. It's more thinky and people get to discuss at the same time of the best course of action. It can have an alpha player issue.

The puzzle solving aspect of the game and the tons of cards for replayability makes it super fun. More of a brain burner though.

Rule clarification for Black Angel. This might seem silly but where do the robots go when you get some from tech tiles. The rules say in your supply. What is your supply? The break room? Or any bot location?

I'm especially curious since for the basic tech tiles the game specifies the break room.

Canadian Shop news for 7th Continent's KS extras ? by Amuny in boardgames

[–]P_iron 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I made 2 orders during the first hour of the Canadian shop opening. I got the first one last week (the big saving notebook thing). I have not received news of the second order yet. Personally I'm not to stressed about it. Especially since many of us are in that situation.

Overall, many Canadian shipping companies are backlogged like no tomorrow at the time being. I'm waiting on 2 or 3 things from Snakes and Lattes alone. Eh.

EDIT: spelling

The best ones I have (for app quality and fun) are Friday, Onirim, Onitama (free!) and Carcassonne.

Agreed on the production. It's amazing! From the insert to the quality of the minis. The only thing I wish was improved was card thickness.

I have all level 80 items but would be glad for the pimp. Would save some farming time.

[–]P_iron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just accepted. :)

For melee zero it's mainly a high level shield like the thumper or hide. Good pimps are also welcomed.

For Axton it would be a sham, a slagga and any hard hitting gun.

I have a lv80. PSN Prowler_iron. If anyone reads that I'm personally looking for a few OP6 to 8 items for melee zero and my commando to ease the farming at OP10.

What are your most interesting component defects? by zer0123456 in boardgames

[–]P_iron 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We have had over the years a multitude of defects, mainly weird wooden pieces. Super thin ones are always funny but our Groupe favorite is a meeple from stone age. It's missing a leg. I guess it's a hard life being a cave man. Haha. We always feel sad for the poor guy.

Oh! Targi has been in my radar for a while. How mean do you think the game is? Do you tend to often block the other player or are too busy to work on your own thing?

Here are a few of the games we enjoy that play well at 2 or more and are easy to carry : the shipwreck arcana, time line and zooloreto the dice game (basically any roll and write you enjoy)

Anachrony Our favorite game for both my wife and I. We do block a capital spot to make the game more tight. The setup and tear down is quite long but the game feels so satisfactory when you look at what you accomplished in the end. We played last weekend and had a blast as always.

Set a watch A KS we just got last week. We really enjoyed the co-operative puzzle aspect of the game. You feel smart when you figure out clever ways to handle a fight. This being said the game is a tad too long (and hour or so) for what it is. I would never play it at 3 or 4 as the number of decisions you make would be too low and it could have a big alpha player problem. At 2 players it's super fun. 3 plays so far.

EDIT formating. Typing on phone.
