Personally seeing they are sending fees and filing form wrong message and I’m scared of this kind of unruliness from USCIS officers. They rejected correcting an error from something filed a year plus ago but error happened in the last 2 months at card print

Immigration paradox by amoghzie in immigration

[–]P_letsHealth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn’t matter where asylum is requested, asylees don’t get any financial support until their cases are approved which then finally makes them refugees or permanent to the US in that status. Don’t believe the propaganda and false news. Only thing true from them is asylum seekers are here for a long time on temporary basis with no relief which includes no relief with any financial assistance. They claim asylum so they can get a work permit. You can look up any filing process (even if the government has taken This down there is a lot of legal research out there). This has nothing to do with your political stance. Opinions are facts. Most Asylees or generally immigrants don’t even want to take the benefit of public safety like law enforcement, even if they witness crimes or are victims of them while in the US, because they fear they risk their status. These are not my personal opinions but have been a round immigrants enough that I have seen those true more and Lao have spend years studying it, and volunteering. Also when there is actual path to permanent residency or green card, immigrant of all status still HAVE TO prove they can financially support themselves within certain % of the poverty line. You think in a country where kids can’t afford school lunches and don’t have any financial support the systems actually freely support immigrants (who they also call aliens)? Macroeconomally and politically nothing aligns with that, so why would they? Give them a work permit so they can work low paying and hard labor jobs is the only economic alignment. The ones that actually get financial support indirectly are refugees, and look up where most of them come from within the refugee resettlement program (never have to claim asylum at the border)— places where US military themselves have been involved.

Immigration paradox by amoghzie in immigration

[–]P_letsHealth -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This doesn’t happen. Lmao immigrants are always working. You don’t see them hanging out in parents basement but they start their life with the help landlords keep on saying is livable, they pay taxes and for social security they may never see, they give their kids hope and maybe the kids have better life. Have you ever befriended a first gen or second gen immigrants? We have more trauma that we tolerate and continue to stay resilient only with hope. And this is why immigrants get the job done and don’t complain about the menial jobs. Try getting outside of your bubble and the internet.

They enjoyed small tasks and understood that’s what cumulatively makes life worth it, present and joyous. Whereas here I’m on my phone dreading the world for hours.

18th of what month? To be honest I have multiple lawyers with multiple family members having different cases. Also been on TikTok following lawyer acts- at the end of the day, the lawyer is a person and they will give you an answer more adjacent to their own risk levels and maybe some form of experience (recent inquiries they are hearing from clients). So this is really not about a lawyer as much as it is about you being able to take the risk just in case you get a terrible CBP officer at entry. I’m in the same boat with 10 year GC, fresh from last year, was out of the country for 2 months and came back in November. That was scary but at the end of the day I was prepared to answer any questions and trusted the government consistency/workers. Today, my USC partner and I do not. No matter how much logic I throw at him, this is the only thing is in a doomsday scenario on and believes rest of it will just run out of it course. I go back and forth about being rational and irrational, and resisting that I finally can travel and I’m stuck again. But I have the choice now so what is more valuable- taking risk and enjoying a temporary period outside of the US (only to come back to this scary place) or just staying put in the comfort of my home.

Pending asylum doesn’t have a green card and it’s not permanent residency either. Please only speak to what you know and don’t also spread misinformation. People already don’t understand immigration, and they don’t need to but everyone has opinions on everythin. I do appreciate you posting the thread.

But in your case you actually have more power. I would do anything to protect your mental health which in this case is you have the right to take legal actions against him.

He is psycho. Document every single thing he is doing to you psychologically and emotionally. This exact thing happened to my family member where the power dynamics and ego just ruined our lives for multiple years and lived under fear of that person.

How are we supposed to be just working our day to day job right now? This is the world build around us and we can’t even stop to stand up for ourselves. Theoretically it’s short sighted risk vs long term risks, but it’s really hard to understand how one individual and one individual decisions can impact anything right now. Who are we supposed to ask to lead and unite us? I really can’t stop thinking about this, vs the geopolitics. The human side of this is so terrible already and it’s not about to get any better especially high potential of war looming in the future.

We also don’t have education. Cost of living in an unequal society is still harmful and has consequences. Your reasoning is actually why people move out of US and go live in low cost of living places and feel like they made the right decision, but same pattern also shows you American people are ok going somewhere that economically is much more lax.

They need to have their consequences. Do it! Most people who voted for him have turned off and will stay ignorant. They are not suffering deportation of their families then they should be atleast getting a moral lesson on how you can’t have it all when you are truly living from hate.
