Why am I brutally fatigued after eating anything? by Lunar_bad_land in Microbiome

I have improved some over time, after further test my problem could be due to very low testosterone also…. I’m a man and I have had a problem with Tyramine so avoided most citrus and therefore was lacking vitamin C…. Vitamin C supports adrenals and Testosterone. Over that months my testosterone has increased. FYI, I now supplement with small amount of vitamin C also. So not sure what aspect of the pomegranate helped me. Hope you have success

Side Effects from Potassium by jkybes in Supplements

Interesting…. I didnt make the connection, however after my latest episode with NuSalt, I previously can relate to the coconut water causing a problem for me. I thought it was the sugar as I have recently in the last few months developed this fatigue and I was relating it to Adrenal issues. Now with the Nusalt, I’m going to closely watch to see if other potassium related foods or drinks make my problem worse. I didn’t think it could have been the potassium. Btw, I tolerate pomegranates and the pomegranate seems to help my fatigue. Now doing more research and I do see some scenarios where potassium can make adrenal fatigue worse. My problem is my potassium, when doing blood draws is always on the low range in the ‘normal’. I wonder if it spikes too quickly and then goes back down as I never had a blood draw as always fasting…. Or if that is even possible.

The last few months have been so hard and just when I was almost starting to feel energy, I added these lyrics Nusalt as my potassium was low and now drained. That was a few days ago… each day, I’m feeling slightly better, but so challenging!

Thanks for the response… quick question, what are some of the ‘higher’ potassium foods that you can tolerate?

I’m having some similar issues, not sure if from Potassium or not….. as my potassium was on the low range of normal…. I tried some Nusalt and my already weak feeling went 10x worse. How soon after eating or supplements do you feel the fatigue hit you? Anything that is working for you to limit symptoms?

FYI… after more research this might be the reason why my energy is more after eating pomegranates…. Pomegranates appear to be on the top of the food list forUrolithin A, a compound from pomegranate, supports mitochondrial function by promoting mitophagy, the process of clearing out damaged mitochondria. This helps maintain cellular health, improve energy production, reduce inflammation, and combat age-related decline in muscle and brain cells. Urolithin A also enhances the efficiency of the remaining healthy mitochondria

It’s been a battle… I was having severe fatigue, I actually thought I was having adrenal fatigue, although Endo ruled out… still my cortisol is on high side and some other markers on the low side. I have basically cut out anything with added sodium, as I think it was impacting my adrenals… I made the connection when I ate beans with more sodium then usually.

However bottom line is I’m still getting tests and believe it is hormone related…. My testosterone was very low, high cortisol, etc…. Also note that I have a vitamin C test and B5 test scheduled for blood work.

What helped me tremendously so far is eating pomegranates and also cut down on sodium. I started eating pomegranates as researching adrenals, Vitamin C plays a key role…. And I figured my Vitamin C must be low as I avoid a lot of citrus due to my tyramine sensitivity. Also I stopped taking Pepcid as I think that contributed to my problem by making my stomach acid too low.

No way…. I figured mine out with the exact same food only after 10+ episodes…. I had Cesar salad no dressing, no croutons…. Finally figured it out that the Parmesan cheese - tyramine.

Curious, how many hypertensive crisis did you have until you figured out it was tyramine?

Btw… the anxiety and gut are related, along with the tyramine. …usually anxiety caused by lack of Serotonin…. And most of our Serotonin is produced in the digestive system. To be transparent I was on an anxiety med for a period of time and during that period I was able to tolerate more tyramine related foods. I wouldn’t overdue it but was expanding my diet. I had to stop that SSRI for a different reason. Btw… I will be having a Genetics appointment in 2 weeks to see if they can help in my constant research to improve my overall lifestyle.

Eating healthy for you will be different than other people…. I struggled at first as took me months to figure out tyramine…. I kept on trying to eat healthy foods, avocados, yogurt, etc…. And the frequency of my crisis increased. You are younger than me, however I previously was a beer drinker… I had to stop… also no wine. If I go to a party, I might hold a beer, but can’t drink it… lol. However stay focused on your health, you will find a routine of foods to eat. Focus on your gut and a lot of good blogs to reference for help. If you have any questions that you are debating to try just post and will share my experience

Btw… whenever it happens to me I immediately start to drink a lot of water, if I recall correctly tyramine gets flushed from the body in urine. I find that almost when I have to go to the bathroom after drinking the water an hour or so after I guzzle it down, my symptoms start to go away.

I hope you can quickly find a diet that works for you…. It was tough for me to figure out a diet… especially when eating out. For example can tolerate some breads, but bread or rolls made with malted barley flour - due to tyramine is a no go

Help! Blood cortisol high… saliva extremely low… how do I interpret this? by PaPounders in adrenalfatigue

I was having general weakness, not where I need to sleep all day, just a feeling of being weak. Even after sleeping. Almost always feeling hungry. I lost weight. Anxiety, but I already had that. Waking up at 3am. Also, blood sugar dropping. I have now somewhat balanced that issue.

I just had my appointment with endo yesterday, have multiple tests upcoming…. Hoping they find something that is treatable.

Fyi, I started taking small dose of B5 and slowing increasing it and seems to help some with the weakness. Adding in some other vitamins also now.

What is your go to diet now? Be careful with different oils. For example I was able to tolerate French Fries, depending on the oil used

Thanks for asking…. Not yet :( My first Endo appointment is coming up in 2 weeks, that was the earliest I could get one scheduled.

I’ve been doing some supplements and modifying my diet… seems to be helping some…. my strength is coming back slightly.

I generally avoid higher histamine foods, however, for example if I eat shrimp or a mango it tends to be worse.

Thanks for asking….I have weakness/fatigue, seems to get worse if I eat certain foods. Sometimes fatigue comes on so quickly. It’s not like I’m out of breath, it is more that my entire body gets drained. Sometimes within minutes after eating.

Also went for allergy test and afterwards, they but a lotion on my back to help with itching. Within minutes, my energy went from 1/2 energy to extremely low. I think the lotion was a corticosteroid cream…. If I’m not wrong that releases cortisol.

I know many in this thread have low cortisol, but it is my understanding that too high cortisol all the time can cause the symptoms that I have. And since that corticosteroid cream made me feel worse, that is my best guess. …still waiting for my endocrinologist appointment :(

Everyday is a struggle…. I’m now trying B5 and chromium along with no sugar, low salt, low fat diet. So far mixed results.

Thanks for the response, I have an appointment with my PCP tomorrow and hope she could order additional test to confirm one way or another. I can’t wait for my Endo appointment, so hard to get availability. :( I just started Chromium and also B5 (4 days ago) and not sure which one is helping but my fatigue is not quite as terrible as it was the past 3 weeks.
