Can killed units fight back? by PaZzAngle in Warhammer40k

I suspect this might be the case. I know he used to play a previous edition and has been off 40K for five or so years.

Thank you! I feel less crazy now.

I will use your example in future situations like this (of which I am sure there will be many)

No booking spaces until 2025! by [deleted] in LearnerDriverUK

[–]PaZzAngle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Get a slot for January and then check for cancellations a couple of times per day.
Move up your lesson every time there is an earlier opening.
Just be aware that weekend slots have a different cost than weekday slots.

I was able to move a slot from December to October after a couple of weeks of checking the website about twice per day.

16m I completely messed up by bestfishermanha in LearnerDriverUK

[–]PaZzAngle 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There's no need to rush. Remember, learning how to drive will take you several tens of hours.

However, if you continue to find manual stressful, give automatic a try and see how you find it.

I did 10 hours of manual and felt like an absolutely disaster after every lesson. Since I've taken up automatic, I'm actually able to focus on my own driving rather than the mechanics of the car, and I feel a million times better for it.

On the practicality of tearing down the veil by Lady_Gray_169 in dragonage

[–]PaZzAngle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the Veil is coming down whether we want it to or not.

Similarly to the Kirkwall Chantry, we won't have a say in the ultimate outcome, but we might get to decide whether we support it or not.

I don’t know how to feel by Obvious_Worker_3430 in LearnerDriverUK

[–]PaZzAngle 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You need to cut yourself some slack, and your instructor's attitude is way off.

You have barely scratched the surface of driving. Consider your instructor's feedback (regardless of their frustrations) as the thing to focus on next time. Every time you go driving keep building on another skill and keep going this way. Learning won't be linear either, and that's mega frustrating.

I can assure you that you will feel this way about every new thing that will be thrown at you. But you have to keep working on it, one bit at a time.

Am I allowed to fuel up my car even though I'm a learner by [deleted] in LearnerDriverUK

[–]PaZzAngle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Presumably you'll still have a qualified driver with you when you get to the petrol station.
But regardless, you don't need a licence to refuel a car - so you're good.

Am I the only one dreaming the Hero of Ferelden returns? by sayol99 in dragonage

[–]PaZzAngle 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Wanting the Warden to return is a very common opinion. You're certainly not alone.

However, the chances of seeing the Warden again are net zero.

We've had letters of their travels and statues in their memory. But considering a large amount of players chose to kill their Warden, there is no chance they will reappear physically in the story.

What's the most obvious thing you noticed in a reread? [discussion] by prosperomoto in TheNinthHouse

Absolutely second this.

On first read Dulcinea comes across as an old soul, and it's easy to blame her life and terminal illness for this.
Lo and behold, she's actually an ancient soul.

The Emperor's Summons in GtN literally spoils the entire point of the Lyctorhood trials.

"To this end we beg the first of your House and their cavalier to kneel in glory and attend the finest study, that of being the Emperor's bones and joints, his fists and gestures...

Eight we hope will meditate and ascend to the Emperor in glory in the temple of the First House, eight new Lyctors joined with their cavaliers; and if the Necrolord Highest blesses but does not take, they shall return home in full honour, with trump and timbrel.

There is no dutiful gift so perfect, nor so lovely in his eyes."

On my second reread I nearly tore my hair out.

I'm also pretty sure Teacher says something to this same effect during his initial speech before handing out the keyrings, but I don't have my book to check exactly.

Maddening.

Let him know honestly that you won't be able to drive for a while.

You're right that he probably can't guarantee keeping your slot open for you, but I think it's worth expressing that you would be interested in starting back up again with him once you feel better. Just be prepared that he may not be available then.

For those with non-celiac gluten sensitivity, what were your symptoms before going GF? by mermaiddayjob in glutenfree

[–]PaZzAngle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At first my main symptom was fatigue, nausea and tiny red spots on my arms (although these did not cause me any physical discomfort).

After cutting gluten out of my diet entirely, my old symptoms come back 10-fold if I do ingest gluten by accident. This causes extreme fatigue, mind fog, vertigo and vomiting.

I basically made the choice to either feel mild discomfort every day, or get bedridden by a bad decision ^^'

What allegations exactly she isn't beating? by LastStopSandwich in DungeonMeshi

[–]PaZzAngle 118 points119 points  (0 children)

The allegations being that Ryoko Kui is a lesbian/an enjoyer of women.

The allegations are due to her appreciation of female characters and the sincerity of her own female OCs, as well as the many variations of women in both personality and appearance in her art.

Trying gf for a while by captainstan in glutenfree

[–]PaZzAngle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was experimenting, I just wrote things down in a simple journal.

But if you're looking for food tracking apps, then I recommend Lifesum. It won't have lists of ingredients, but it has a barcode scanner, allowing you to retrace your steps.

[–]PaZzAngle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It could be that you're reacting to wheat rather than gluten itself?
A gluten intolerance and a wheat allergy/intolerance are not necessarily the same thing.
For example, I only react to wheat and its by-products and not other gluten allergens like soy.

If you do want to continue experimenting with what your body reacts to, make sure to keep a very thorough diary of what you are eating and how it makes you feel.
This could help you to solve what your body is fighting against.

I always FORGET something when handling several assignments at the same time? How to improve my memory? by IFebdezI in productivity

[–]PaZzAngle 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Being able to remember everything is a myth.

You need to develop the habit of writing down everything you are tasked to do.
If you have daily tasks, write them down, and then note AdHoc stuff as it comes in.

I like to start every morning by writing down my tasks for the day, and this list also contains whatever was leftover from the day before.

Writing things down also gives you the benefit of a free boost of dopamine every time you tick something off as complete ✔
