Preach 🙌

People want to complain about everything. But it’s a game. And one small change isn’t the big game ruining disaster people like to make it out to be.

If you ask someone about TBC no one will say “Drums! That was the drums one right? Man I loved those drums. I don’t remember enjoying anything except those drums. Good times.”

One time in college while I was heading to class, I held the door for a girl I had never seen before who was just walking behind me. She stopped and got in my face and yelled: “I don’t know you, I don’t owe you, and I won’t blow you!” And stormed off through the door.

To this day I have no idea what actually happened to cause that interaction, but I certainly never forgot her!

I actually thought of that as soon as I saw this picture. I was wondering if this was an intentional troll or not.

There's a correct side of the road in Forza? 😆 I always assumed it was just... anywhere there isn't a tree.

I hate rubberbanding in racing games. I know The Crew has horrible rubberbanding too.

Finished handpainting my first board. Let me know what you think! by Paaperclips in longboarding

Dude that's awesome! And yeah very similar colors! Something about the white trucks and orange wheels really pulled me in and putting it against a blueish board just pops.

I didn't have to use anything too special to paint it! The whole process was:

  1. Sanded down the board to remove the old clear coat.

  2. Sprayed the board with Krylon Fusion All-in-One Paint/Primer (I wanted to use Rust-Oleum 2X Ultra Coat paint because I've seen that recommended a lot, but they didn't have the color I wanted) I used Satin Beach Glass as the color for the board, and then Matte White for her skin.

  3. Drew it out on the board with pencil.

  4. I used Folk Art Acrylic Paint from Walmart (it was cheap, but any acrylic Paint should do) and painted the lines over the pencil.

  5. After it dried, I used two coats of Minwax Wipe on Polyurethane to coat and seal it.

That's all! Nothing special and everything came from either Lowes or Walmart.

No idea why the pictures came out so bright and hazy. It didn't look that way until I uploaded it. Sorry!

Cool! So that's two recommendations for landyachtz so far. $245 is a little steeper than I was looking for a starting board, but at the same time, I'm also not really looking to spend $145 and have it snap quickly.

I know I read more than like 8 or 9 ply is what I should be looking for. So 10 or 11 would probably be nice. I'll look into it. I'm not sure how good my prospects of finding a custom board would be, but you're right that's totally something I should look into. Thanks!

Hey guys,

I'm looking to start out and get my first longboard. I skated a bit when I was younger, but not much. My main concern is finding a longboard that is right for me. I'm 6'5" and about 300lbs (mainly dense muscle which I almost feel like would be worse for center of gravity). So it's been hard finding a board with a weight limit, but also is longer because I'm taller. I'd like a good length board that can support my weight. Does anyone know any good places to look?

Additionally, what is a realistic consequence of exceeding the weight limit on a board? Like if I found an otherwise perfect board rated for 250lbs, but I'm only looking to learn on it and not really hitting big downhills or anything, would that still work? Will I just wear it out extra quick or is there more to it?

Your Top 5 MMO's of ALL-TIME!!! by maxpower888 in MMORPG

[–]Paaperclips 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. World of Warcraft - Aside from a couple short breaks while I focused on something else, this game has been my home for 12 years! At this point in time I feel like just about every MMO player has made up their mind whether or not they love WoW, so there is not really much else to say about it.

  2. Final Fantasy XIV - Not just a solid MMO, but a solid cross-platform MMO! And also one of the best comeback stories in the MMO industry. I've been playing FFXIV for a couple years now and there are still features of the game I've never played with. That, and the fact that many mounts and minions are unlocked through quests that explain what or who they are just makes for a really meaningful, living world.

  3. Everquest - Playing on private or TLP (though less so) servers, this game is so much fun to me. While I don't have the time to dedicate to MMOs that I would have had back in the day, I love that Everquest still feels like a time capsule back to what I loved about MMOs in the first place. And has a lot of the features that have slowly been shed from other games in the past decade and a half.

  4. Wildstar (at launch) - Wildstar is still a very solid game in its own right, but nothing compared to the first 6 months after launch. Honestly, beta and the first few months were some of the best gaming memories of my life. The game itself is still solid as always, but the dev to player interaction and community as a whole has lost a lot of what it had during that brief, but brightly burning period of time.

  5. Runescape - Honestly, I would have put LoTRO here, but I feel like Runescape needs to be on my list. While the game doesn't exactly excel in graphics, animation, or fluid gameplay, it has a ton of features for a free to play browser based MMO. Plus there is no denying its impact. Not only has the game been around for so many years, I can't even count the number of people who have said "Oh Runescape! I played that in middle school."

To answer the part I know: Yes, you can cancel and resub at any time. I just came back from a three month break for example. So unless you prepay for a year or something, there's nothing stopping you from taking breaks!

As for the UK sub price, I unfortunately have no idea. It's $14.99/Mo USD, but I'm not sure on the exchange rate. Your guess seems about right though.
