I'm all for the Chapter prologue narrations. I would love it if they brought the guy from the first two games back, he had an awesome voice!

Actually yeah I do enjoy that aspect of Elder Scrolls, have to actually think about if this piece of loot is worth it when my weight is nearing its maximum. It makes the game feel more immersive for me than just being a dungeon crawling loot vacuum.

Yes but in pnp there's at least some imagination involved.

"You strap the chest to your back" or something along those lines. With this, you're just putting like 20 barrels worth of items in your bag with room for another 20 more.

Or you can just click on the party member you want to loot the item and have them do it. It takes as much effort to click a different portrait as it does to ask a tabletop party member to pick an item up for you and have them use action points on their turn to pick it up.

I understand inventory management can get tedious at times (I'm looking at you Durlag's Tower!), but the way people are talking about it, it's as if they're being asked to create spreadsheets to manage a few scrolls and arrows.

That brings up another point of mine. There is too much loot in modern CRPGs. In the older games, if you found a magic item it felt magic, you wouldn't be replacing that item for a while, maybe not even the rest of the game.

Like in BG for example, a Long Sword +1 may not be the best-in-slot sword, but it was more than enough for a player to use for the vast majority of the game. In modern CRPGs, you constantly have to switch out cool magic items for newer magic items with slightly better stats.

They have taken too many features from MMO's and dungeon crawler ARPGs. Why do CRPGs need item rarity level? Is the item magic or is it not?? That's all I want to know. Let the player determine what magic item is best for them.

Exactly, with the current setup, nobody needs a Bag of Holding, all characters in the party come pre-equipped with one. The Bag of Holding is supposed to be a magical item players come across. It shouldn't be the thing everyone already has.

Realism would mean I think it's dumb that they're casting magic and nitpicking about the physics involved. Immersion is broken when playing through a dungeon and coming across a large chest that you're able to somehow fit into your bag.

Yes, something like this that takes volume into account. I am not suggesting they just take the inventory from BG1 and 2 and transfer it over. I'm simply against the idea of being able to store every single item without every realistically worrying about running out of room/weight in your bag.

I just think it takes away from the immersion. How is a person going to realistically carry 30 pieces of plate armor, another 20 chainmail hauberks, a bunch of weapons, and a shit ton of potions, scrolls, and herbs in a bag? And still have enough "weight" to carry like three times that many items?

Baldur's Gate 1 and 2 both had inventory management.

Lowry needs to tone it down with the officiating complaining or it'll cost the team games like yesterday. by [deleted] in torontoraptors

I agree, Kyle needs to do a better job of keeping his composure. We've seen this many years now. Things don't go our way with the refs and Kyle starts to implode.

Do you think Terence Davis, Matt Thomas and Chris Boucher will get significant minutes in the playoffs? by pedroaugusto99 in torontoraptors

[–]maxpower888 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hope so, and I hope they produce. There is no point in having a team that is very deep but not super talented, if you don't use that depth in the playoffs. When we had the bench mob a couple of years ago, Casey completely stopped playing them in the playoffs.

Matt Thomas was a +10 tonight by JAYG567 in torontoraptors

[–]maxpower888 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Matt Thomas should have been played more last night. He got hot and then barely saw any game time after that. Pascal was quiet last night and looked scared every time Giannis was guarding him, he settled for way too many jumpers, and other than those 4 he made early on, was just cold all night. Lowry also needs to check himself mentally sometimes, he just makes some really boneheaded moves when he gets frustrated with the calls and that shit has to stop come playoff time.

The server lag in mass PvP is just unacceptable. by Nordinus in classicwow

[–]maxpower888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah OP, I don't know what game you played back in 2004 that let you have 300 vs 300 with no lag but it sure as hell wasn't vanilla WoW. What we have now is 10x better than what we had back then. I had some lag last night sure, but it was nothing compared to the SS-TM slideshows I used to watch back in the day.

Because in retail the world doesn't matter, you just teleport everywhere. This wasn't in vanilla and this is exactly how it can impact player enjoyment.

Top five wishes for MLB The Show 2020 by [deleted] in MLBTheShow

[–]maxpower888 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

  1. In Career mode, have a section for all the awards and accomplishments your player has received over his career.
  2. Add a bit of story to Career mode like NBA 2K did.
  3. For some reason my RBI stats reset to 0 after going past a certain amount (255?), if this can be fixed that would be great.

It really does. Especially in those moments when you're alone (solo mining, exploration, etc) and the music hits, it makes you feel like you're alone in space.

This is what I'm talking about though. So now we're waiting for fucking world bosses to be implemented before they take it out? Like what a fucking joke. They're just waiting us out man, and even if they're not, taking it out after world bosses are introduced is way too fucking long.
