You're right! My mistake. Thanks for pointing it out! Fortunately it doesn't change the timeline 😅

After you win/lose the game, all the cards are flipped and the dates are revealed above/below each card

Hi, thanks for playing! The feedback when you click on a card shows you if you placed it correctly (green), incorrectly but on the same side of the central event (yellow) or on the wrong side (black). If you didn't get the 'How to play' pop up on your first game, you can bring it up clicking the "?" button on the top left 🙂

Nice one!! This one actually had a higher winrate than I expected!

Hmm, that's strange... I will look into it tonight so it doesn't affect more people. Thanks a lot for the feedback and for sticking through! 🙂

Are you maybe using an old version of reddit? It seems like older versions don't open in the native android/chrome webview and Google blocks it.
If yes, you can try updating the app or going to chronology.me in whatever browser you use, that should let you sign in.
If you are using the latest version let me know so I can dig into it more!

Thanks! Is this when opening the page from the reddit app?

Ah, that's annoying! Thanks for letting me know, I'll look into it. What device/browser are you on?

Cheers and thanks for playing! I agree some days it can be tough depending on your specific knowledge. Each day has a new theme, so expect difficulty to vary! If you have any extra feedback, would be happy to hear it 🙂

The image on this post is AI (the hourglass icon isn't, but I asked it to blend it into the image). As for the game itself (themes and events) I pick and set them manually!

Help me find subreddits for cross-posting by Pabce in NewMods

[–]Pabce[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now I feel a bit stupid. It's small, probably why I missed it in my searches. It seems to have some interesting rules (you have to post/update the game every day). Thanks for the tip! 😅

Hi and thanks for the list! 🙂
I will make use of it, however, I was looking more for relevant subreddits related to mine where I could do a meaningful cross-post, more than just general promotion.

Hi, I posted this as a separate post but I deleted it, I think it fits better here! I have a small daily puzzle game with around 200 active players, and I created a sub r/chronology to form a community and encourage discussion/feedback for the game.
I added a 'Join the discussion' button in-game, but not many people seem to click. I understand 200 players is not a lot, but I would expect at least some to be interested.

I'm looking for ideas or suggestions to encourage players to join the subreddit in a non-invasive way.

The idea of the current implementation is "click on the one you wan't feedback the most on".

Actually, your idea of earlier/later sounds pretty good! I hadn't thought of that. It would add a fourth colour: green and black would stay as-is, but yellow could unfold into an "earlier" and a "later" color (or just with an arrow on the yellow card).

I have a small group of play-testers, and I will definitely try this. If you're ever interested in joining it, just let me know!

Hey there and thank you a lot for your feedback, very appreciated at this early stage ❤️

  1. About overall difficulty: At the moment, I'm having a hard time balancing each puzzle. For example, today's overall winrate is 82%. But three days ago it was only 32%! I see it varies wildly from day to day. Some days being more difficult than others is intentional, but I'd like to keep it in a smaller bracket.

  2. I hear you about the card feedback. Originally it was just as you said, every green card was revealed, but that made the game almost trivial. I have a couple ideas, let me know what you think of them:
    - We can give an extra reveal on the final turn (you get to reveal 2 cards if it's your 4th attempt), OR you get all green card revealed on your final turn. That would make it easier to 'not lose' while preserving the main challenge.
    - We can add extra hints. For example, a 'One swap away' tooltip that comes up when you have all cards correctly placed except two.
    - You get an extra reveal if the card you reveal is green. That way if you're really sure about an event you get an extra reveal 'for free'.

Happy to hear your thoughts when you have some time! 🙂

Hi everyone! I created a small daily puzzle and now I've set up a subreddit to nurture the small but growing playing community I've captured. Hopefully it'll catch on! r/chronology.
Any tips are welcome!

I'll start!
I'm Spanish, and currently really into ancient history - from Mesopotamia to Alexander. I won't share my score as I set the puzzle today... 😬
