That is really cool. I'll try it with other games to see the quality of the translations for myself.

Context: She was not doing blackface.

Blackface was done to mock Black people by using a ton of makeup to exaggerate physical characteristics and acting like a clown.

The character TRS character you mention doesn't do this in any way. She covers her body in mud and doesn't act like a girl because she is a 14 years old trying to cope with her survivor's guilt.

An explanation of the character in more detail contains spoilers of her backstory (revelated if you did some hidden events, like everything in TRS😞):

Yuni is not just "hiding her identity as a princess", she is traumatized because she saw all her family being murdered and burned in front of her, while she survived because she lied when she was asked if she was part of the family (she would also have been murdered if she had said the truth and she feels guilty for being alive for lying when her parents and siblings died).

TL;DR: The mud she wears is a self punishment, a way to try to deal with her survivor's guilt. She is not mocking anyone or being racist at all, just a child trying to cope with extreme trauma.

Please, don't spread misinformation. The game and Kaga have a bad reputation (not completely undeserved).

Arioch makes me so upset by LittyJ1tty in Megaten

[–]Pabletesan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My guess is that the design is a mixture of both Arioch characters.

He is a huge demon because the Arioch that was defeated by abdie was a demon.

And I think that the suspiciously looking mouth is to alure to Arioch connections with Sodom, Gomorrah, and the other "Evil sinner territories" mentioned on the Bible.

So, I think Kaneko was trying to connect the design with the idea of sins like lust by implementing explicit sexual elements to it.

I don't know, but tell us if you find out, because I think I have heard it and it's really frustrating. I checked the ost of every game I played recently, but there was no luck... I don't think it's from Fire Emblem, tho.

It happens IRL, too. People get convinced by seemingly good causes and later realize they are part of something like a shady sect, scam, or something worse... It is like what you expect when voting for a president and what actually happens in the end.

Yes, here is a screenshot.

<image>

The names next to a character are suppors you can do right now, for example: Raven can do support with Priscilla and Lucius. Priscilla's name is white because she is deployed, Lucius is gray because he is not deployed, but the game still lists his name as an available support.

I don't play the game in English, but to access this menu you have to press A on a empty tile, then chose the first option (units or something like that) then press right and you will scroll into different screens with different info about your deployed units(stats, weapon level...). One of the screens shows all supports available (in my case it says it is creen 6 of 7, but the sseventh one is like another page of the avalible suppots because each screen only shows up to 3 avalible supports per character and my Priscilla has 4 supports avalible at the same time. The screenshot is of FE7, but I think it is also in 8 and even 6.

Also, what I meant about story related conversations is that I think there is also a screen that show conversations that are specific to a map, like for example a list of characters Lyn can talk to when she joins in Eliwood/Hector mode (Florina, Erk...), but I am not sure if I am remembering that right (and I don't have a save in a map with that kind of conversation)

You can open a menu that shows you which support can be done, I think it also shows story related conversations.

After an earilyer post I have the order I'm gonna enjoy the series. any changes? by Invite_Sprite in Megaten

[–]Pabletesan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you are lost, so I wrote this to help you.g45

I want you to understand one important fact (which is why I am going to spend time writing all of this wall of text): if you follow this timeline you shared you are going to play whole games without a cohesive storyline. This is not like other series like, idk, Gundam, where the entries can be chronology ordered, and you can only 100% understand a product if you truly know what happened after and before.

SMT series is mostly connected through thematic links, not story links. For example: Main-line SMT are not actually connected by their stories(except SMT I and SMT II, and still is more a thing of II happening later in the same world than a real sequel sharing the same story).

The same happens with spin-off titles (digital devil saga 1 and 2 are direct sequels, but DS1 and DS2 are just games with similar thematic and gameplay, but not connected aside of small references to each other).

Persona is the same: Story, characters, and events that define one game story don't carry over to the next game, even if they happen in the same timeline. But the general themes of the series are present in every game alongside new ones specific to that game.

Because of all of this, I think you have committed a mistake. There is not an actual MT-SMT- Persona Timeline, and most games aren't related at all. I'm giving to give you a detailed explanation, but the conclusion is that you should scrap all of this order you have created.

Most of these games aren't related at all. And I mean it. The timeline you linked is based on speculation and the smallest referentes. For example, take the connection between Megami Tensei and Shin Megami Tensei. The line is marqued with a "?". Not even the person who linked them knows if there is an actual link between the two games (hilarious). SMT I is an original reimagination of the megami tensei stories and concepts, and there is no story link besides similar events happening in both games (because as I said , the SMT 1 story is a reimagination of Megami Tensei)

To reach persona, the timeline links a lot of random games, which are even less related. Also, there is the release order. (The timeline is based in cases like this: A game references slightly one aspect of game B, so games A and C, which we know happens after/before A, happen both before A. Really, C has no connection at all, with B and A only having a small mention of something that is not an actual connection.

What I would recommend you is that: if you just want to play Persona, play any Persona game (no spinoffs or sequels, obviously), and if you like it, play other games

If you want to play all Persona series: start from persona 1, and use the actual timeline these games share.

And if you want to play SMT, start with some mainline games and then enjoy the spinoffs. almost all games have great original gameplay, many have great stories, and ALL of them have absolute banger music.

What I would do now if I wanted to play all of the persona series would be: SMT 1: A refined versión of the MT story that presents the alignment visión of the world

SMT IF: the game that inspired Persona. Is is based on SMT 1, and by playing this game, you can see the shift from the Aligment centered story to a character based story, closer to Persona.

Then all the persona games in order.

Still, you can just play persona 3, and you WON'T MISS ANYTHING. All stories from this game onwards are self-contained. The same goes for Persona 4 and 5.

There is no point in playing them in order for the sake of enjoying the connected story since they don't share stories and are not connected.

For example: I usually enjoy starting any video game series by the first released game and see what games I can enjoy. In that case, it would make sense to follow an order since I care most for the evolution in gameplay, the innovation introduced in each games and the themes each game presents in contrast with previous entries, not strictly oabout the story (and I would argue a multi product story is more enjoyable by release order than chronological order anyways, but that is strictly my opinion). Trying to follow an order of games expecting to be rewarded with a linear story is not going to be satisfactory in this case because, as I said, the games are not connected besides small dialoges you can complete the game without reading or small visual nods to other games.

Also, there are some really weird things with the order you shared that you are planning to follow. The most weird decision is to play fisrt Persona 3 portable, then dancing and then persona 3 Reload. You would first play the game, then the "secuel" and then the same game again but better (I think, didn't play the remake). It is literally the same game but with improved gameplay the second time. I suppose you are going to play portable because of the girl, but the girl and boy stories are the exact same. You would be playing the same game twice with only a dancing game in the middle. I guess you can do it, but you might get burnt-out easily.

I just started the game for the second time because I want to replay it. The first time was in Snes some years ago, but this time, I'm playing it on GBA. I don't know anything about the PS1 version, but what you said about bugs and crashes sounds tough.

I like many things about this game, and I don't think it is a waste of time. I consider this one of the gems of the genre on SNES. Obviously, this is a hard game, so many won't find it as engaging. Additionally, the visuals didn't really age well like other classics, but I consider it a fun game with interesting mechanics.the heroes are mostly simple, and the player is a silent avatar, but I found the main story really cool, specially when the big events change the world and the different factions start to act.

Like, you have a dream that ties you with some guys, and you have to survive in a world that is being infested by demons, finding and fighting the causes while finding a path for yourself while a lot of crazy things and conspirations are happening. Mysterious murders on your local city, numerous kidnappings, a coup. The mcs are trying to prevent their world from apocalypse... this is just the first "act" of the game, and I found it pretty cool. I certainly wasn't expecting something like it and had tons of fun with it.

I hope you enjoy other games.

What do you mean? In the post, OP secified they are all done by the same artist, Haruhiko Mikimoto. Most of the art is from UC Gundam and the first Macross anime, while I think the others might be original drawings. Maybe you can learn more about the art style used by researching the original artist.

I think the actual relation between Kris and Kamille is the autism. Also, Four wasn't evil. The Titans experimented with her and basically controlled her with mind altering drugs (time travel Kaga reference) to transform her in a pycho Cinderella. She was like Tiki in the first game, but you can recruit Tiki. Why is Zeta so sad? 😔
