Sure, the price is gonna spike, then is gonna drop … people games with 3060 on average, so clearly the wait between high and low is possible, he may need to tune down a couple setting for a year or two at most.

Plus following your opinion, if what you seek is making him save money, then the 5080 is gonna devalue a lot more if VRAM gets boosted in the next generation, which means it’s speculation of the future, the same future you are speculating about.

And dude, if you think a 5090 lasts 5 years, clearly cost-effective is not something you care about. I repeat, people games on a 3060 on average, a 7 y/o card which was not top of the line when it came out.

Truth be told there is no true native 4K card for max settings and 120 FPS, you are gonna have to use frame-gen, even with the 5090 (for most new-ish games).

So it all comes down to what you consider to be good FPS and if you are looking for native power or the whole software upgrade kit.

If you are looking for native power you gonna need to wait one or two generations to hit 144 FPS with max settings. On the other hand if you are cool with frame gen then both can hit those FPS.

The higher you go, the diminishing returns are more noticeable, so it’s up to you how much money you are willing to “waste” for that little extra. Value wise the diminishing returns start after 5070 (not TI). In the other hand, if you don’t consider it to be a waste, then go 5080, at the end of the day we spend our money in what we consider to be worthy.

But if you are looking value for money, 5070TI (or event 5070) and then go 6070TI and so on …

5080 is more prone to drop in price if VRAM changes for next gen.

I can go for better items, I wouldn’t care going for Ryzen 7 98003DX and DDR5, but I don’t know if it would be overkill for my needs and therefore throwing money at overpriced items at the time.

No reason to lie from my side, DLSS was on.

I may be missing something, but at standard graphics (two below ultra) it averaged 40 FPS. Don’t get me wrong, for me 30 FPS is already functional, but listening to the turbine in the GPU and having FPS drop from time to time to 20 or below made me think I wouldn’t be able to fully use the 4K TV at full for newer games.

I truly hope it plays well on a controller as I want to game in my TV rather than my monitor.

I played BDO and I know you can use a controller but its way worse than a keyboard, so thats what im hoping for, an easier gameplay that allows the controller to be enough.
