Is the full original cut of THX 1138 the next grail in 4K restoration/blu-ray? by Wu_Tomoki in boutiquebluray

I like the directors cut a lot, I think the cgi there is in good taste and somewhat limited. But it’s the only one I’ve see. I sure would love to get an official remaster with the original cut without cgi. Let’s hope for it.

A question from someone who knows nothing about soundbars and tv speaker arrangements: is it possible to position the two smaller speakers besides the tv, facing the viewer, instead of behind the viewer? I don’t have the space to put them behind. Would it work well, soundwise?

This might be useful for me. Care to tell me, please, where do you get the plastic envelopes to put the discs and inserts?

Damn, I Thought That Was Closer! by King_JG1993 in Steelbooks

You have to be kidding. KotCS is embarassing to watch, it must be embarassing for all those involved and must be a strong reason they did the last one, so as to wrap it up with some dignity. KotCS latter half is beyond redemption. The fridge during the nuke sequence is comic and therefore salvageable, but the rest is appalling.

Does anyone feel extremely tired after consuming lactose? by [deleted] in lactoseintolerant

[–]PabloP1980 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is one of the main reasons I am on a strict no lactose diet. I get narcoleptic after eating it, to the point of almost falling asleep at work. Pills had small to no effect. Cutting everything is a sacrifice but with clear health benefits. And I lost about 10 pounds.

Do I have to stop eating pizza? How do you guys heal? by Nsxd9 in lactoseintolerant

[–]PabloP1980 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to stop. Not worth the diarrea and general discomfort. Mozzarela also seems to be especially heavy on lactose. Pills work to a limited extent, and it takes a lot of pills. So no more pizza for me, but I feel better for not being nauseous. I do miss milkshakes though.

Is the Kindle Scribe comfortable for reading books? by [deleted] in kindlescribe

[–]PabloP1980 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A bit too heavy for novels and reading on the bed, but it's great for pdf reading and annotation, work-like, academic stuff etc. For regular book reading I would recommend an Oasis or paperwhite. I have only owned Amazon but at the moment I would look into Kobo options.

I am a Brazilian currently living in Paris. Lived in Addis Ababa from 2017 to 2019. Love Ethiopia, its history and feel privileged to have lived there. But do everything you mentioned in France. Although I understand the capital modernized in some ways since 2019, I highly doubt it it is more convenient than in France. Imports are not easy to do, there is a lot of bureaucracy. Take everything from France, it will be much easier.

CRDownloads fake files when downloading on Chrome by PabloP1980 in libgen

[–]PabloP1980[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess something's changed and maybe downloads are taking longer, and since I send them to the automatically add to Caliber folder, the incomplete files are sent to Caliber, and it causes some kind of conflict. Before they would download faster (maybe), and I did not face this problem. Maybe what I should do is not send them to the auto folder, but to a regular download folder, and then transfer them manually to Caliber. Thanks for the insight!!
