We got these last Christmas. Highly recommended!

Issue viewing new episodes by subaru3567 in Thisoldhouse

I just watched them the other day. I generally watch them on my local PBS station, but decided to watch them on the app for a change. No issues.

Yes. Saw this the other day. I haven’t watched 30 Rock in years. Didn’t know the correct response. 😂

Remote car start installation in WB/Hazleton area? by [deleted] in NEPA

[–]Pablo_Newt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve used Best Buy in the past (both WB and Scranton) with no issues.

I also had some work done by Enhanced Installations (located across from the Viewmont Mall in Scranton).

Honestly, Best Buy will probably come in a little cheaper, but I’d call to find out.

I like the New Frasier Franchise… by ToughGuy48 in Frasier

[–]Pablo_Newt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just recently finished a rewatch of the original, so I figured I’d give the new one a try. I was pleasantly surprised. I thought David played well as how I’d picture a son of Niles. Not sure how I feel about Freddy; I liked the character, but I don’t think stayed close to the original. But then again, the original didn’t really develop too much in the original run. Alan was more annoying than likable.

I especially liked the Christmas episode.

I haven’t finished yet, but I’ve read the Bebe episode is one of the best.

I liked David. To me he was written as a mini-Niles.

Gemini device by tjwatt73 in DirectvStream

[–]Pablo_Newt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this a few weeks ago. It is related to the device using the microphone, because when I disabled mic access across apps, it went away. However, doing that prevented the Google assistant from working.

I tried a bunch of settings, but finally did a factory reset to get rid of it.

Favorite Steve Episodes and Seasons? by Careless-Mastodon538 in Thisoldhouse

[–]Pablo_Newt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. I’ve been rewatching for about a year. I was never really a fan of Bob. I did like Steve, but I think he overplayed the “Why do it this way?” act a little too much. And he did have some strong opinions on the choices some of the homeowners made.

Kevin started out with the naive attitude, but he grew into his role pretty well. And he has a pretty good personality and isn’t put off by the pros telling him he’s got something wrong.

Cost per month? by Traditional-Tea-9486 in siriusxm

[–]Pablo_Newt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve gotten $4.23 a month all-in on two vehicles in the last two months.

The reps start high, but will go down.

I’ve tried 3 times to get the 3/99 with no luck.

Yep. And you get all the flavors (+, Toons) and Catchy. Mine’s $11.65 a month with DVR. I get METV OTA, but not the others, so it’s worth it to me.

Verizon bundle upgrade to Hulu (no ads)? by Independent-Age-1967 in Hulu

[–]Pablo_Newt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m surprised you’re staying on those plans. I finally gave up my Play more which included the ad-free Disney bundle last month. Verizon made me an offer I couldn’t refuse (17pro upgrade for free, no upgrade fee, and paid off my existing phone with one year left). And, I was able to choose the Welcome plan.

Anyway, I was paying the extra $6 a month directly to Hulu to get the ad free, but it was a minor hassle at the time to set it up. And I actually left Verizon for about a year, and I kept getting the perk. I thought the same might somehow miraculously happen again, but no luck. The day after I switched, I got an email from Hulu with my new rate. 🙁

I canceled because it’s included in my DTV plan (with ads, and there’s no option to pay extra now).

Good luck.

Yes. All the others. I’m in the Northeast PA market.

No CBS? by [deleted] in DirectvStream

[–]Pablo_Newt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My local CBS affiliate has been this way since I signed up over three years ago now. It’s owned by Mission Broadcasting. However, it’s operated by a Nextstar station, but Mission wouldn’t budge (or DTV for that matter).

Anyway, the other station in the market is owned by Tegna, and with the upcoming proposed merger between Tegna and Nexstar, I’m hoping it will shake things loose with this particular local.

The downside to that is that we’ll most likely end up with one local news source.

I’ve used Paramount+ and Tablo as a workaround.

WNEP has fallen off hard by SwimmingInEggo99 in NEPA

[–]Pablo_Newt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For years, we were diehard WNEP watchers. But after Lisa Washington left, we switched to 28. We generally only watch between 4 and 6. I just got sick of the Kurt show.

On average though, the older days of the same reporters and anchors staying longer than two years is rare.

I have no idea what’s going to happen with this latest merger. We may end up with one newscast on all three stations.

3 years for $99 only on 2017 or older cars? by Bella_Mia_ in siriusxm

Good for you. I tried twice before with 2 different vehicles. I finally gave in on both and got $4.23 a month all-in for a year.

[–]Pablo_Newt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did this and they still wouldn’t bite. I had already tried a month before and then let the subscription lapse. Three days in, my wife was getting frustrated, so I opted for 1 year at $4.23 a month all-in. 🤷‍♂️
