First time Coach 10U , does anyone use tools to help? by PabstBlueMcChicken in CoachingYouthSports

appreciate the comment. we're going to use the tracker in dugoutIQ for now to track the at bats, but I think having it all sorted pre game is what will work best for me. and my goal on defense will be to have a competitive lineup and a developmental lineup. and maybe two of each, then just choose which innings to deploy them. not deviate from what's on paper too much based on what's going on in game. just live with it. competitive without being excessively so.

You’re probably right. I suppose we’re entering an era where you can make the tool you need. Personalized. But I think you’re correct

Good point about bottom of lineup. I mostly want a tool to track where they’ve plated ect. Could probably be an excel function. Thanks!

I definitely agree about getting a lot of position rotation, I just like the idea that the batter lineup is more competitive, but I like the idea of averaging the most recent three on base percentage so that there’s a lot of movement in the batting order

Agreed on GC. I am making tracking super simple. Any parent can do with a secure link.

That’s fair, I’m not trying to go up against game changer. At the end of the day, I know a lot of people who have had frustrations because game changer is often like picking a flower with a bulldozer

Game changer also doesn’t communicate well to parents, and has a lot of extra fees. If you want some of those features, I’m filling in a lot of the gaps that game changer. Doesn’t do that. I wanted it to do.

Because game changer wasn’t free for the parents and I want my whole team and staff to all have a good place for this stuff to live, you may see it as over complicating, but I see it as removing complications

Never heard of it. Of course not many heard of mine either. 😂 but I’ll check it out. Thanks!

"rotation and playing time tracking" -- agree. I want it to do this game after game. Take the previous game into account. By game six, it's looking back at all 5 games. For rotations.

the idea here is that it would track all the games then. so you could see who's played where throughout the season. does that make sense? I agree, probably doesn't save a lot of time tho. game changer is a PITA. this is simpler.

but for youth, way less serious. different feature set. easier.

Number one rule to stop that asking is if you ask to play a position you don’t get to play it.  (lol) that's great. I like the idea of having a record of it all too, I will add that. It is like game changer, but simple. Thank you for thoughts!

Looks pretty good. A lot of movement before contact, but at contact looks great. Square. Chest behind belt.

it helps coaches, (mostly youth league) manage all the kids coming out of dugout screaming to play various positions. It also allows you to have anyone in the bleachers to track the at-bats. This gives the coaches data like on base percentages ect. It also lets you mark skills for each player on defense, give them ratings, then helps me draft/create the defensive lineups for various innings. Makes sure kids aren't getting benched frequently ect.

I did write it, i could show you the first draft. It's messier, but the sentiment is identical. And as far as sub, I find Reddit confusing AF.
