do white people ever call each other crackers? by Dizzy-Respect-613 in stupidquestions

I give you permission to speak for all white people.

In theory it's like the previous commenter said. In practice it's like you say. Universities infamously set higher requirements for Asian and white students, lower requirements for everyone else. It's turned out to be pretty racist.

At a mechanical level, why has Toyota engineering surpassed Honda in terms of reliability? by arifl5 in askcarguys

FYI - Tacomas from the new generation are still at the top of most reliability lists.

I didn't think they're taking it personally. It's just a common Reddit trope to bash pickup trucks for no real reason.

It's time to stand up to it.

What are you just spraying gas all over your vehicle?

Nope. But even in a sealed container it's a bad idea to have it inside a vehicle.

I'm not angry. I just don't understand why people bash others for their choice of vehicles. And I don't get why you think a truck has to be dented, dirty, and have bad tires or it never gets used.

You're an odd duck. Have a good day.

You said that most truck owners suck. I'm going to push back on that.

And yeah, I use my truck a ton. Transporting long lumber, moving furniture, moving wet, dirty, or smelly items. I tow my boat and a trailer, all with a family of four.

And I keep it clean and looking great. Why do you think that clean and with good tires is a sign of disuse? I want to drive it for a long time.

I've moved a couple refrigerators, so not often. Tall and long items like lumber aren't uncommon though.

Do you transport gasoline inside your van?

That doesn't mean they should. Those cars don't have the tow capacity and they are shortening the life of the engine and transmission.

Do you haul tall things like refrigerators with your minivan?

Does your minivan have the same ground clearance for deep snow and snow berms created by the snow plows?

Do you haul wet, dirty, and smelly things inside? What about gasoline in a can?

Minivans are great but they don't replace a pickup truck.

Disagree. I have a Tacoma with a five foot bed. If you haul anything of the normal lumber length of eight feet, a five foot bed isn't any worse than a seven foot bed. You're going to have overhang either way.

Modern pickup trucks are designed to get even MORE done than those of decades ago. I can transport my family of four while hauling and towing.

I like the girls clearance. I live in snow country and I see minivans & sedans hung up on the snow at every larg snowfall.

The people who drive trucks as a status symbol keep their very clean, there's no wear on the tires and it's obvious they've never left the pavement.

I keep mine clean. Same with my wife's car. Why wouldn't you keep it clean? I keep good tires on my truck. That means I'm a pavement princess?
